So unlikeable, gave it the bigen going in on Conor Ben for the drugs stuff, and always has such a strong opinion of everything like his opinions is always right, and has been yapping away for 2 years on Talksport like he is the voice of the people, then suddenly now that he is being paid by Zuffa, gives a joke interview of Conor Benn, makes his Twitter so you can't reply to him and tweet him and takes down all old tweets and YT vids, little weasel, changes just because he can get some Zuffa dollars now.
He has literally deleted all his old posts, Fight Disciples have as well. All the structural integrity of a souffle. What absolute rats
Deleted most their YouTube content as well. Genuinely hilarious how badly they have been outed here. Used to listen to them on and off a while back. That wont be happening again
Catterall needs a gender test after that Conor Benn interview - the man who spent years calling the clomifene situation a shambles turned up and went full nodding dog. Nigel must've pulled him aside beforehand and put it straight on him and Adam lost his balls in the process. Meanwhile Conor's running the exact same playbook as his old man - found God, found himself, suddenly it's all water under the bridge. Same script, different generation.
There’s only so much that Adam can do to be fair. He made his opinions clear on Benn 2-3 years ago, but Connor essentially got away with it, and has since had the 2 massive Eubank fights/paydays etc. He’s now a big name/draw and will be involved in significant fights with the biggest promoters etc. So what is Adam going to do, if he wants to get commercial work with these platforms..if you speak out on something and nothing happens, you can hardly continue to harp on about drugs failed tests, when the sport has basically already moved on as if it didn’t happen.
Fair point but he should just own it properly then - admit he's a paid mouthpiece who'll bend over for commercial work rather than dressing it up as one bad interview. At least that's honest. The "straight-talking no-nonsense broadcaster" thing only works if you're actually prepared to lose the gig over it. Turned into a complete ***** the second the backlash hit, might as well get on to deed poll and rename himself Adrienne.
I wonder if they have sold the fight disciples brand, or is there a role for them on sky sports for the zuffa cards? Seems strange to be removing a lot of their content.
Will quote what I said on the other thread cos I can’t stand him! Problem is, the majority of the boxing media are happy to be paid puppets for the promoters or establishment and don’t try to hide it (your Parsons, Kugans etc.) The problem is when your likes of Catterall, Helwani etc. want to have their cake and eat it. They’ll sell themselves out for anyone willing to chuck a few quid at them on one hand, but will pretend they’re serious, impartial journalists and broadcasters on the other. You can absolutely be a puppet or stooge if that’s what pays the bills. But don’t have the gall to call yourself a journalist at the same time.
More than likely hiding his digital footprint in case something gets clipped and goes viral - that would be him done. As @chrisfinch said, Catterall wants his cake with a slice of Turki on the side.
He was banging the drum for a while when it came to Benn's failed tests, more than most other journalists. How times have changed! Now he's doing puff pieces for him instead. I wonder how much money Conor has thrown at Talk Sport to get them to tow the line.
I don't know what characters like Parsons, Cassius and Catterall are, but journalists they definitely are not. They're not talented people who could make a living writing about the sport like the late Ron Lewis, a genuine journalistic talent who used to write brilliant pieces for The Times. The 3 of them are chancers holding recording devices whose attitude is literally 'what would you like me to ask you today?'
At the point your selling point of your podcast and brand is that you are the gold standard of credible journalism you cant be doing stuff like that interview. Also they turn in a paid platform for a lot of their content to keep "independent" So perhaps they are getting paid enough from Turks that they can stick all the content on YT
On talksport today, he said he "questioned his own performance" in the interview with Conor. He knows
