Great fight between 2 completely overrated guys to see which one can claim he beat the other overrated guy. Don't let either of these guys fight Ortiz, whatever you do. Hands down winner is a future Wilder opponent.

I have to think Martin is trying to make a good comeback, because there is no money in Kownacki.

Still, I just don't think the guy really wants it deep down. I say the Pole takes it, although it is a pick 'em.

Cownacki is an gelatinous overrated repulsive fat punching bag. He lucked out to get Szpilka, who's glass jawed as all hell coming off of a long layoff and IIRC he was injured. Martin should be able to keep him behind his jab and KO him in 5. Kiladze just got brutalized quicker and more efficiently by Michael Hunter moving up from Cruiserweight than he was by Cownacki.

Are these two future names on Wilder's 50-0 list?

At least we'll find out something more about these fighters watching this, which had been rare in the heavyweight division. Both are capable of beating each other and should be an action scrap.

Martin has really only ever fought 2 guys that were not the type of opponent that get chosen to pad a record, literally brought into lose. One he beat due to an injury then other KO'ed him without even trying.

Going by that track record it will be interesting to see how he does against another opponent who isn't just there to lie down. I think Kownacki will test him and Martin again will fold when the going gets tough. Kownacki will move on to bigger and better things, probably a shot vs Wilder.

Charles Martin is this era's Sultan Igbramov so he'll likely lose this fight.

Kownacki should take this. More spirit and movitation, he is also a fighter, Martin is a quit job inside.

Martin never had the heart of a true fighter inside the ring, only took the easy road, only fought bums and even draw with a 6-12-6 guy after being 6-0-0 (6KOs).

His best win is probably Glazkov who had to pull out with a knee injury in the third round. So wasn't even a real stoppage.

    Martin is average at best.

    Kownacki by mid/late round Knockout.

Dawejko I'd rate his best performance, who he stopped in 4 or 5, whereas Jennings and Mansour both wen the distance with him.

Dawejko looked in much better shape vs Jennings than he was vs Martin tbh.
Mansour is too small compared to Martin to score an easy knockout win, his power also gone imo in the last couple of years with his age. Martins height and reach of course is tough for a small guy like Dawejko to handle but Kownacki should deal with it easier.

I really do not rate Martin. I watched a couple of fights and i think he is a quit job, he doesn't look like he has any fighting spirit inside, can only fight bums and much smaller guys who are no risk for a 6'5 guy like him.

I mean losing to AJ can happen but fighting Polley and Marrone afterwards and then stop fighting for more than one year...no way he has the spirit to beat Kownacki who is a real fighter although he is limited and overrated obviously as you pointed out pretty well above.

No word on if the winner fights Ortiz?

Kownacki and Martin are 8 and 9. 1-3 are Whyte, Breazeale and Povetkin, all of whom are tied up. Ortiz is 4.
