All the best to Adam Smith. Never a huge fan of him as a commentator, but always respected his enthusiasm and passion for the sport.

Cancer is a *******. The statement suggests he'll be making a complete career change, and I bet he'll cherish every day of whatever he does next. Good luck to him.

 

I have always quite liked Smith, yes he had some howlers as a commentator, but name one that hasn't? His obvious passion for the sport and the fighters has always shone through.


I'm glad he's beaten cancer, I'd like to see him back in boxing somewhere.

Shame he's left Sky , I think that's probably the death knell for boxing on Sky without him driving it.

 

All I can say about him is

'We will never forget'

 

I 100% standby this as I know people he owed money to.
Did not have knowledge of the cancer and delighted he is in remission .
But I do not post comments for likes or hatred of a certain promotion etc.

 

Cancer is terrible, and ruins lives and families.

pleased he is in remission, but a shame he is leaving sky and possibly boxing by the sounds d of his post.

I wonder why someone who was in a high profile position, his illness was kept so quiet. He was never mentioned or spoken about by anyone.

 

Very unfair that he had cancer and looked like Sky pushed him out the back door hoping people would forget about him. Gambling rumours should have been shut down immediately. Sky were very fishy over this. A servant of the sport deserves much better

Glad to hear he’s cancer free and wish him well in the next phase of his career.

 

Had no idea about the cancer, like most on here. Can't say I was ever the biggest fan of his commentary, but he clearly loves boxing and belongs behind the commentary mic, whether or not it's on Sky.

Was never big on the lazy / nonsensical chat you'd get in every comment section about kids in his basement etc. Bargain bin patter.

 

Agreed and I’d go further. That kind of thing is disgusting and never funny.

Several tiers worse than things like the “go home to wife and kids stuff” on Bellew vids. Also not funny imho, but won’t impact his life.

Usually says more about the sad keyboard warrior behind the posts than the person receiving the allegation.
