enjoyed that interview allthough felt he ducked the question kind off, when asked if someone else done a show could it be shown but maybe the eastside rumours are true about him and Nelson with Smith saying how good he looks

 

Split broadcast Billy. Not disputing that Ricky's a class above Jamie but what I'm saying is that they could broadcast both events in a huge night of boxing.

Boxnation is the dedicated boxing channel,what boxing are they showing that night ?.I know their international stuff has been great lately but they should be picking this up.

 

Not ppv I hope.If Hobson turned down any deal he sure didn`t mention it when he moaned to one of the newspapers.I assumed he wasn`t offered any deal at all.I thought it was odd he moaning about Sky and not boxnation when Sky have that date for Burns.

 

Is ridiculous that Hobson has to go through Hearn to get to Sky in the first place in any case. Hobson had that date lined up then some big bully boy action came into play. He wasn't offered ****. Am sure there'll be a nice footnote on that week's Ringside though.

 

It`s what Sky have decided to do with their coverag,everyone knows this and it`s their right to do so if thay wish.I`m not sure but wasn`t the 11th of May Sky date been planned before the McDonell fight had beed made. I think orignaly the plan was a Frampton show on this date but he picked up an injury and Matchroom signed Burns.

 

Yes mate everyone knows this, but when simplistic statements about Hobson turning down an offer from Hearn are made on here it doesn't tell the whole story and paints other promoters like him in a bad light.

 

I agree. The deal Smith made with Matchroom is ghastly. Hopefully Sky bring in someone who can rectify this mess before they get out of boxing all together.

 

Firstly Smith is just a middle man, the bigwigs at Sky decided to just go with Matchroom because they were cutting the budget and dates anyway and they trust Matchroom to deliver(they have other sports they supply Sky with) and it`s easier to deal with one promoter.I think it was either Marchroom or nothing so I hope he can deliver or in 18 months that will be it for boxing on Sky.If he didn`t get record figures for Froch and Brook last year thay might of pulled out allready,

Bollocks. You just know Smith insisted on Nelson wearing skin tight clothing at all times.

 

And what Smith and Francis haven't quite realised yet is that by severing all direct ties with other promoters they've made Hearn's job harder not easier; quite a lot harder in fact. Matchroom seemed a snug fit and yes they can serve boxing well, just not under the present model that has been created with regard to Sky internally. Even with a reduced budget the one promoter tie-in was a horribly blinkered decision, and external developments in the not too distant future are going to make this decision look even worse.
