Very mixed feelings on Adam Smith. He loves his boxing, and I like the way he is happy to talk about the whole sport, not just the stuff on Sky. I genuinely enjoy listening to his interviews, he generally answers all questions he's asked as openly and honestly as he can. I don't think he's the right commentator for top level fights. Not a patch on Rawling or Costello. Him and Macklin aren't a "box office" pairing imho. He also is very much a Sky company man, and ultimately Sky's business model is getting users on long-term contracts for expensive sports broadcasts. Their boxing content is ultimately all about feeding viewers into PPV boxing events. They aren't unique in this model of course, but Adam Smith is very much the embodiment of this for Sky.
Who cares if “he loves his boxing”? some of these clichéd comments in here are cringeworthy as ****. I thought this was supposed to be a boxing forum full of real men, not some slack-jacked sissies.
Since Matchroom left I've been rooting Sky, I hope their stable grows and improve over the next few years.
I think this suits all parties tbh IF Whyte loses to Fury, I just have a feeling this doesn't happen at all. He won't be of much use to Eddie if Fury smashes him up , Boxxer/Sky need big names so will most likely well overpay for Whyte's services, everyone's a winner.
When you think about what he actually said it's crazy .... Suggesting people think Bellew got a tattoo saying BOMBER in honour of a terrorist presumably because he's Scouse and he was fighting in Manchester?.... Another one of my favourites was when Matchroom binned Sky and he said "we have got netball though " Should be nowhere near boxing imo
