That confirmed ? Lillis tweeted a week or so ago that he reckons Haye and Froch will be on the same PPV card on May 21st but that Froch-Johnson will be in Canada or the states. According to him, numbers dont add up having Froch and Haye on at the same venue same night.
I think Smith is actually OK as a commentator but Rawlings is terrible for me and thinking about it...the worst commentator i have ever heard. I really mean that! He seems like a decent bloke but has a commentator he actually spoils my enjoyment of fights, especially big title fights, with his dumbed down comments and embarrrasing statements. I get the feeling the casual boxing fan has more knowledge of the sport than him! I know i'm being a bit scathing but he really is that bad. I think Ian Darke is the best commentator we've ever had in Britain, and although i understand he can't commentate on all Sky's fights, i think only he should be allowed to do the big title fights. Richie Woodhall and Bob Mee are great additions.
Nahh i don't really, he cracks me up to be honest. He's like a teenage school girl around certain fighters cough* cough*. I thought this was funny, the way he burst out into a laughter during this last Haye vs Harrison press conference. At the 12min 50 second Mark, when Audley Harrison is trying to exsplain what the fight is all about................. That right there reminded me of school, and those moments......."When you were'nt supposed to laugh" but you do. Tonights Ringside that focused on the darker side of boxing and the stories of Watson, Oliver and Ingle was absolutely brilliant. Keep it up - this is the kind of stuff that will take Ringside to the next level. Well done. And, I always give Johnny Nelson a hard time, but he probably did his best interviews to date, with the stuff he did with Ingle, Watson and Oliver - a fellow boxer can really relate to what the other boxers stories.
Yeah he seems be doing some positive stuff. I like the fact they had Spencer Oliver in studio, as that is where he should be, hope it continues. There are not enough unbiased, balanced pundits on Skysports Boxing telecasts, so he adds a degree of balance.
So far so good, but if he wants to use his influence any more, he can do the following in no particualar order: - Get Froch on Sky permanently. - Get all fights mentioned by Lirva...and more. - Get Ian Darke back doing commentary!!!
I enjoyed yesterday's show but I'll not be able to take them seriously until they have a proper discussion about the alphabets and their ratings. Not holding my breath though.
So when a boxer suffers an injury in the ring and can't fight anymore we should keep them off Primetime TV? atsch Last nights show was brilliant and it showed what the unlucky few have to go through when fights go horribly wrong. If more of this stuff was on TV then maybe we wouldn't have so many moronic boxing fans on this board making tasteless comments and showing massive disrespect to guys who put their life on the line. I find it hard to believe you are a fan of boxing sometimes.
I sure as **** hope Khan vs McCloskey isn't a ****ing PPV!!! That is a ****ing joke. How is boxing not dead when a PPV date is secured for one fighter - Amir Khan. At the very least it should be secured for a HUGE match up if not an ENTIRE CARD which is very strong!
It could use a couple of competitions in there, give the fans something to win, I'd love to go to some of these fights around the country, ut the ticket price coupled with the travelling expenses means I cant do it most times. Offering fans the chance to win all expenses paid trips to some of the fights would be a good way of rewarding the boxing fans for shelling out £15 on **** 'fights' like Haye v Harrison, or some signed stuff, anything to get some engagement from the viewers
