Adam Wills vs Charlie Vella 3 The Decider This Friday night on May 30th from the Central Coast Leagues Club in Gosford NSW, & live around the country on Fox Sports sees the third & deciding match between 2 of Australias great warriors Adam Wills & Charlie Vella. In their 1st enthralling encounter in late 2005 Adam Wills got the better of Charlie Vella & won by a majority points decision. In their rematch bout in May 2006, Charlie Vella got revenge on Adam Wills & won by a split points decision. After a two year break almost to this very day of their last exciting match is the deciding 3rd matchup. Both fighters were only novices during their other two encounters, but this time Adam Wills promises to put on a dominant display. I have been training harder than ever for this bout and Im 110% committed. When pressed further on this Adam states Im up for this challenge and with an improved training regime working alongside Angelo Hyder, I have no excuses. Adam Wills only has kind words about his opponent Charlie Vella despite both previous battles being heavily heated. Both our 1st two fights were battles of attrition that made us both find a new level of respect for one another. Our deciding bout will be another great performance from both of us and may the man who wants it the most win. When asked to discuss about his improved training regime Adam Wills said I have been in training for this fight approaching 2 months flat out and been eating very healthy. I came over to the Central Coast early to train alongside Angelo Hyder especially, but while I was in the West, I was training with Husso (Former pro boxer Husso Smajlagic). Adam Wills has had an exciting professional boxing career to date, having being involved in eye catching bouts with not just Charlie Vella, but also Ruben Santillanosa, Rolando Gerongco, Ben Burrage and more. When asked about his future plans after the final Charlie Vella bout Wills states Should I be triumphant against Charlie Vella, its my dream to fight for the Australian Title. To me that is my world title. It would be an honor to face Chris (Chris McCullen, Australian Light Welterweight Champion) in either Brisbane or here on the Central Coast. Either way we would generate a huge crowd and put on a great show. Adam Wills vs Charlie Vella is not the only great matchup to look forward to come this Friday evening. Promoter Angelo Hyders Nitro format card will also feature top undefeated prospect William Kickett against late replacement Jurland Ceniza over 6 rounds. Angelo Hyder is excited for this contest & states This promises to be an exciting bout. After Thomas Yakubu pulled out we offered the fight to Mohamed Elomar who holds the Australian Title. He called out William Kickett after his fight with Brendan Batty. We offered Elomar $5000 to step into the ring with Willy for 6 rounds, but he backed down. Its a shame. Ceniza steps in and will give it his all. In an intriguing Heavyweight contest South African born Pieter Cronje battles with the always durable Brian Fitzgerald over 4 rounds. Cronje trainer and former professional boxer Husso Smajlagic when asked about this fight said I have been sparring with Pieter daily, to get him into top fighting condition. Fitzgerald is a tough competitor, but you will see Pieter looking as strong as he has ever been come this Friday night. The night also includes Emanuel Augustus in a match that could very well steal the show with Jun Paderna. The always entertaining Craig Parke will also be in the ring & a young undefeated prospect from West Australia called Michael Hatwell should excite the Central Coast faithful too. When describing the whole event promoter Angelo Hyder states I try my best to put on the best fights possible. No pretenders here backing down from a fight, only real fighters giving their all in entertaining evenly matched bouts. Im very excited for this show. In closing Angelo Hyder states This is the last time Adam Wills and Charlie Vella will meet in the ring, so I suggest everyone either tunes in on FOX or gets down to the Central Coast Leagues Club to witness some Aussie boxing history. Professional Records of Both Competitors Adam Wills - 8 wins (2 by knockout), 3 losses. Charlie Vella 5 wins (3 by knockout), 4 losses and 1 draw.
Well its 2 guys giving their all. Both aint world beaters...but expect some fireworks. Are u going to help Aussie boxing or just critisize it some more...:think
****, Im moving house this weekend and then up on the coast next weekend so Ill miss out. Kegsy, how about a lowdown on either guy? I'll be the first to admit my knowledge of Aussie fighters is pretty weak.
The lowdown. Well this fight can in 1 word be described as Explosive. Both fighters will just come forward & heaps of brawling. Wont be a tactical fight, & i expect headclashes, heated exchanges & the works. Outside of the ring, both guys say they respect one another, but inside it wouldnt seem that way.:yep Both guys will load up with shots. but lack power. Vella is a brawler type with the slight better power, whereas Wills has probably the slightly superior boxing skills & a more solid chin. Both guys have huge heart & im not here to decide who's hearts bigger. I just feel overall Wills pulls out the close decision, maybe majority points decision due to his boxing skills pushing him over the line. There is never much in it between these 2. May the best man win.:deal Should Wills win its his dream to meet Chris McCullen the Aussie champ.
Yep fair enough mate, but a syou know we do have more to offer then this, it's just a shame that some of our local talent are too concerned about protecting their records instead of fighting each other. Just my opinion.
Goin to be a great brawl, i hope nobody rugby tackles each other again. Im goin with Wills, but Chuck had those bigs hooks to watch out for. Good interview i read on *********, Wills saying a Aussie title would be like a world title to him and its a huge goal for him, good on him for having a real go!! I think he can do it!!!
Yeah mate you are 100% right.:good But the problem also lies in how little money there is in Aussie boxing. Of course we are all disapointed. If i had my way i would want matches like Willy Kickett vs Lenny Zappa vs Lance Gostelow in any order of those 3 possible. Hell anyone want Ranee Ganoy at Lightweight too like Willy.:hey Daniel Geale vs Jamie Pittman. Solo Haumono vs Bowie Tupou. These are just examples that im plucking off top of my head.
That was you hey? Yeah i liked it mate, he sounds like a normal aussie guy enjoying his sport, you should put your name to them mate, and not ****in Lights Out!! Francis Kegsy Whats his gym like he was talking about mate?
