Adamek admits he'll duck opponents who box and move, won't rematch Cunningham

    Seen this on another site.

Direct quotes from Adamek saying that he will no longer take on fast fighters who can actually box, move and use defence, and will instead only take on people who will stand in front of him and slug :-(

Guess he's had enough of being out boxed and doesn't want to have to rely on gift decisions anymore. Pretty shocking statement from a professional fighter though really. He's basically admitting "I'm not good enough to box with these guys so I will just avoid fighting them and cherry pick opponents who match up well with me".

well.. i guess. He fights Pulev and if he wins Wlad next for 1 final pay day and then calls it a career...

I hope so, he's def been declining and been in many wars... there is no point in continuing.

Adamek should be allowed nowhere near Wlad. He was in trouble from Vitali's jabs, I don't want to imagine what Wlad's right hand would do to him.

Not much. Wlad could not even wobble Haye's infamous Glass chin with it.

    Just kidding just kidding ffs!

I have a feeling Adamek is hoping for one big last payday and then call it a career.

He just struggled massively with two boxers and now he's admitting he'll cherry pick his opposition to only fight opponents who stand in front of him. I guess some would see that as a bit much,.

Adamek has always stuggled with speed. Dawson went to town on him, Cunningham soundly outboxed him & Chambers made him look like a mug with one arm.

This wont make any difference to his fanbase who will pay to watch him fight anyone.

Hopefully he fights Pulev next, gets spanked & then retires.

he knows he lost to chambers and cunningham. he's plotting a route to Wlad and he knows his best chance is to look good and he can't do that against these slick types certainly not at the weight he's been coming in at.

The thing is though, the smaller guys outbox him and the bigger guys outpunch him.

What can he do? I'd be on arreola in a rematch and I can't see him denting Pulev nor Helenius.

his career is gonna be interesting from now if he wants to get the ultimate prize.

Going by previous actions, which is what counts -> that is clearly not the case.

Those 2 guys are cruisers now anyway, he's chasing a dead duck fighting them again.

What other slicksters are there in HW that he needs to fight anyway ?

The man will have 2 or 3 meaningful fights a year and sprinkle in some tune ups as well.

Personally I think fights with somebody like Chisora , arreola and some of the upcoming Americans makes sense. I have seen plenty of cat and mouse fights with Adamek fighting slick boxers over the years. the dude must have close to 50 fights at this stage.

I really dont care to be honest (not about the subject, but about him saying that)

Adamek is irrelevent at this point. To me, hes fighting at this point to entertain fans and to get a paycheck, and maybe he still just likes to fight as he is indeed a warrior.... but certainly not for legacy, legit ranking, ect.

He doesnt hold a belt, hes not going to become champion, and his impressive career and story as a fighter has already been told, Ive enjoyed it and as of now hes on the last stretch of his career.

Him choosing to fight opponents that suit him, at this point, is fine by me.

Would be totally different if he had a belt, but he doesnt.... and at this point is pretty much a non entity at the elite level (imo, and this is not to be taken as an offense, I am a fan of Adamek, its just the way I see it)

So with him having no future in the division, and holding no belts, and quite obviously on the last little stretch of his career, I really dont see why anyone would care who he fights at this point.
