In recent interview for the polish media:

Adamek: "Arreola was the hardest puncher that I've ever met. But it wasn't enough to knock me out".

Thoughts? Arreola KO'd 25 of 28 man (28-2, 25 KO). Who except the Klitschko's and maybe David Haye can floor cold Adamek?

Admek is a cruiser moving up to heavy and fighting a good puncher carrying a lot of weight so of course hes going to feel it. The problem is i doubt Arreola hits as hard as Wlad of Vitali or someone like a Tua. Even Hayes power could cause adamek trouble the heavy division isnt really for him - he isnt going to stop many fighters but there power by his own admission is going to trouble him even some lesser fighters like travis walker could cause him trouble - cant see him lasting too long at the top unless he choose his fights carefully.

he had ademek in alot of trouble but was exhausted by the time he would catch him and bring it.

arreola was weighing significantly more than adamek... everything chris threw was throwing adamek off his feet..and sending him into retreat.

brilliant plan to make chris "go beast" ...weather the storm ..make him chase still... back and forth...and then pop..pop..pop on him.

smart move for an ex cruiser.

if Adamek tried to stand and fight instead of pick and slay. he would have been down and beat. he's smart...especially with Arreola coming in at his big weight. just simple strategy.

props to Arreola for being standup.. and giving props.. that cordial art of sportsmanship is dead....even when adamek said Arreola never hurt him. hah.

Adamek vs. Holyfield i read....message board ****...so ...i'm not sure if that is a joke or not.

    $ holyfield....heart bet... mind bet.

I think Arreola could maybe do ok still in boxing if he gets in shape and fights the right styles.

One would have to say that Arreola took big risks in fighting Vitali and Arreola, probably under some pressure from HBO. He should refocus now.

Arreola should fire his trainer now and get a dedicated nutritionist. He should train properly, do weights and cardio next to sparring and eat clean. No alcohol, no going overboard with ultra fatty foods or mexican carbohydrate bombs.

Then, he should just work on his speed and stamina. He has everything else. Heart, chin, a decent enough punch. It's all there.

Arreola won't go anywhere beyond journeymen basher if he doesn't get his act together and starts working, eating and exercising professionally 24/7. Not just 8 weeks before a fight and then slacking off the other 40 weeks a year.

    Well no **** Tomasz. :yep

Golota barely got off against him, and Estrada isn't a puncher.

So of course the first big heavyweight to land on you is going to hit you harder than you've felt in your LHW/CW career!

I rewatched the fight, and still fail to see where "Adamek was hurt". He did get hit with some big shots during the fight, but I didnt see a moment where he was hurt.

Where it looked like Adamek was hurt, was when Cris would suddenly try to stampede him, and Adamek would get smuthered by him, but that was just Cris throwing his weight on Adamek, along with a mass of punches, more then Adamek being hurt. Another moment was when his sole came loose.

What rounds are you guys seeing this? I want to see it.

Maybe the rounds where he was scrambling around the ring like a drunk trying to get away from Arreola? You could see exactly when he was hurt, because his footwork went to pieces and it was shocking.

This is where subjective terminology comes into play. In the jargon of boxing fandom we often use "stunned" or "buzzed" or "____ got ____'s attention/respect" to describe the kind of mildly hurt that Arreola had Adamek at times...while reserving the actual word "hurt" for more severe instances, where someone is on the verge of going down.

This is also why boxers in post-fight interviews will make the contradictory statements "Yeah he hit me very hard" and then reply "No" when asked if the opponent ever had them hurt.

Yea those instances Adamek didnt seem very hurt to me. One of them the sole on his shoe came loose, and he was standing on 1 foot when hit with a jap and got sent into the ropes. He got out of them, and Arreola apparently also thought he had Adamek hurt and chased, and pushed him all over the ring while throwing wild punches.

Other instances were the same with Arreola randomly throwing huge shots and using his mass too push and bully Adamek all over the ring. All the while Adamek was back peddling trying to get out of it, and avoid the onslaught. I still didnt see a single time where he was "hurt", as so many people keep suggesting. I want specifics, a round, a time, and a video to see what everyone keeps refering too.

Here is a youtube to part 1.

You re wrong, ive watched it in hd like 4 times already , and adamek was never hurt. not once. He was "scrambling around the ring like a drunk" even when arreola didnt land single punch cuz Chris was just pushing him like a doll using all his mass and weight advantage. Adamek was never hurt and if u watch the fight few times it becomes obvious. You shouldnt always go by appearances. (issue's with the shoe played a role too)
