    http://www.ringpolska.pl/tomasz-adamek/22174-duva-oficjalnie-adamek-cunningham-o-nr-2-w-rankingu-ibf

According Main Events boss, Kathy Duva, the December 22nd fight between Tomasz Adamek (47-2, 29 KO) and Steve Cunningham (25-4, 12 KO), at the Sand's Casino and Resort in Bethlehem,Pennsylvania has been officially sanctioned by the International Boxing Federation as a fight for the organisation's #2 spot at heavyweight.

"The winner of Adamek - Cunningham will have to fight Kubrat Pulewv or the highest ranked challenger for the #1 spot in the ranking and will gain status of officiall contender", said Lindsey Tucker of the IBF. The winner will fight Pulev in the spring of 2013, and will then become a mandatory for current IBF champion, Wladimir Klitschko.

seems like the IBF are doing everything to give Adamek his shot, or rather paycheck, with Wlad, fact is, all of us know Adamek has no chance of winning, but the IBF know he's still the most active, exciting and profitable HW in the US at the moment, a fight with Pulev next year would be a decent one for Adamek( he should get past USS)

Why doesn't Adamek just drop back down to CW? He probably just wants one more big pay day against a Klitschko before he retires.... But if he went down to CW he could possibly capture world titles and retire on top.. If he faces a Klitschko again he's just going to get battered, AGAIN.

He's on his way out, it's all money from here man. Legacy isn't really important if you aren't high on the ATG list.

I like his chances at CW tbh. He still has the skills to beat everybody down there.

These 4-man tournaments are good since they, usually, mean you have to win atleast two straight fights against reasonable competition.

I'm not crazy about Cunningham getting a slot since he's had one minor win at heavy and lost his last fight at cruiser but if he were to beat Adamek and Pulev then I'd have little problem with him getting a shot.

I think Adamek beats Cunningham and then loses to Pulev but whoever won a Pulev-Adamek fight would have earned a title shot with Wlad.

Pulev hammers the winner of that anyway. Although I still think he'll be giving the mando position. Who knows though. Maybe Pulev turns it down and then Adamek faces Klitschko next year.

I agree that Pulev beats either guy but I'd be surprised if Pulev turns down the fight. Being a mandatory gives him leverage that he'd lose out on without being a mandatory.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Adamek passed on a Pulev fight, if he beats Cunningham, and tried to get a fight with Wlad without being a mandatory. He knows Pulev is a huge risk and could just go straight to a Wlad fight without that risk.
