From what I have seen of Cunningham, he always comes in great shape like this. This is gonna be a very tough fight for Adamek, but I believe he can pull it off. Surprisingly, 4 of 5 boxing writers for the Polish boxing website bokser.org are predicting a win for Cunningham by UD, one of them UD but not necassarily a deserved one, saying Adamek needs to win by KO if he wants to win.
Cunningham actually has a very large fanbase in Poland due to his two fights with Krzysztof Włodarczyk and then his TKO victory of Huck over in Germany. All three fights were televised and from what I understand he is a very well known and well liked fighter in both countries.
Yea Cunningham seems to be a nice guy, although he did throw his fair share of put downs towards Adamek in the last press conference that was held, which was said to not have been in his style.
Adamek needs to come forward in this fight and constantly apply pressure on Cunningham. I think he needs to throw some hard shots to the body to slow him down a little, then to both the head and body as well, to break his spirits. He needs to watchout for Cunninghams jab, as Adameks handspeed advantage maybe somewhat neutralized by Cunninghams longer arms. Adamek has to cut off the ring effectively and give Cunningham as little as possible room to work with, then it will be Adameks fight. He cannot stand there and expect Cunningham will be there to hit, as other fighters have been. He needs to use his skill, and find his target. This will be a tough fight, I'm thinking tougher then I originally thought now, but still think Adamek can pull it off.
Don't let all those muscles frighten you. Muscles didn't help Lacey out against Calzaghe. Not that Cunningham is a bum like Jeff Lacey.:yep Damn, I wish I was going. I hope every Pole from near by Passaic & Wallington are hanging from the rafters of The Prudential Center. :happy
It's not the muscles that are scaring me. It's more of the fact that Adamek for the past few fights has fought against fighters that are there to be hit, and this will not be the case tonight, and I hope team Adamek have a plan worked out. I think Adamek is the stronger one of the two anyways. Adamek is way better then Wlodarczyk, and Wlodarczyk beat Cunningham in their first fight, and didnt even allow himself to get hurt in the second fight. I think Adamek will take this.
I think with Don King promoting him, Cunningham will have the UD there to take, but as to who will win the fight fairly, I don't know. Cunningham is RIPPED. He can always pop next door to the bodybuilding contest if he loses the boxing!
The comparison with Wlodarcyzk is what I'm hoping will allow Adamek to show Cunn who's the boss in there. Of course he's stronger...he eats all his Capusta!:hey
These photos remind me why I so much prefer cruisers to the HWs. It's too bad that Haye had to exit the division and join the HW circus, but alas that is where the big money is still. I'm really excited about this fight, and I like both guys. It doesn't matter to me who wins, as long as it's a solid scrap and there's no injustice. May the best man win! And thanks to Versus!
