It could be an entertaining fight, but I prefer Adamek fighting someone else as I like both of them. I do not understand why Adamek takes it. Money? Could be the only reason, but keep in mind that Holy got something like 150 k$ for his last fight aginst Botha, and at this stage I'm afraid Adamek could be a bigger draw. And he is risking more than against Arreola, as a loss against shot Holy would be more devastating to his career. Holyfield lost so many times in this century, and struggled even against limited opponents (Botha, Oquendo) that a win over him does not mean anything.
HBO and showtime are not going be interested in this fight, so it will have to be a Promoters back PPV, which means big risk with there money.
it's like bobby gunn's fight in hw, looks like he needs a bit easier one, but still i'd like to see him fighting f.e. solis...
I'm not even a pro and somehow I have the WBF North American Interim Title. I...got it in my box of shredded wheat. It's not very big but it's, you know, it's nice, I guess. I called them to ask when I had to defend it and they just laughed.
lol you bias Adamek fans can't see that this move will make Adamek less respectable then now. I would lose most of my respect for Adamek if he accepts this fight, besides Adamek doesn't really have a big fanbase in America. Adamek should fight someone more challenging, like Chambers, Peter, or Solis.
LOL Oh well let them fight......sad to see Holy get pumped like a flat tyre but thats the likely outcome......:bbb As long as Holyfield goes down swinging im happy
You forgot to add - "once a month". Still he is going to fight a guy who defeated Valuev. Out of Mormeck, Rahman, Holy, Grant, Austin, Roy who were considered as fights "not to get rusty" -it's the best option for Adamek to face Holy. He presents actually the highest sports quality despite being dinosaur.
From what i heard, Adamek's trainer wants now some1 easier and to sell some tickets there must be a "name". What are your advices for his next easier fight? Or maybe its utterly unnecessary idea to fight lighter opponent now but keep waiting for a huge fish? He has already gained so much required experience in HW with so many fights (2?). Each time Adamek fights he brings completly different weight into the ring. Maybe its high time he stabilized it and at last accustom to HW? I don't know, maybe it's just me looking for some excuses while Adamek wants just to beat crap out of the old man without any true reason.
Sure he should fight someone as easy as Holyfield if there are no challenging opponents available. But Peter is available, Solis is available, I think Chambers is available, and so is Thompson. He's fighting Holyfield as if he think he's the big shot in the HW division. If he accepts this fight, this will bring his stock down, and he will lose credibility. Personally I'm not a fan of him at all and I would like to see him lose.
Can i ask why you are not his fan? Adamek would be madman if he decides to fight another tough opponent after Arreola in such a short period of time. He is still fresh in HW and he is not any TERMINATOR. Peter probably will be his next fight. Chambers was rejected by HBO and Solis is occupated (dunno how its with Thompson).
HBO wants to make an eliminator Adamek-Peter in December, Adamek wants to stay busy and fight in the meantime one easier fight that he wins and earns some money. So why not to fight Holyield? And I am sure that Adamek will not hurt old Holyfield so badly, beacuse he always says that he enters the ring not to kill the opponent, but to win the fight. On the other hand Holyfield in my opinion beat Valuev in Dec 2008, so he still can fight on the decent level.
Oh, I didn't think Adamek could be even less respectable than he already is. Change your avatar, lifting a 245 pound man is not hard to do.
Why should he fight all the challenging opponents back to back ... if he does that then who will be left for Haye, Wlad or Vitaly? I don't remember Haye fighting challenging opponents before getting his title shot. Lets have Adamek win the belt then demand him to fight most challenging oponents one after another.
