Kathy Duva interview from the main page.

MC: Fair enough. On another note, your guy Adamek has another big fight coming up in September with Vitali Klitschko. What are your thoughts on that?

KD: We’re pretty excited. We’re going to Poland -- have the press conference and officially announce it in Wroclaw, where the fight is going to take place. There’s been a lot of upsets this year and we think there is going to be another one.

MC: I have to ask you this. How did you manage to get this fight outside of Germany -- and in Poland? (Adamek’s birth place)

KD: (laughing) Well, every now and then people say you’re a promoter -- what exactly do you do? That’s what I did. I managed to convince the Klitschko’s it would be a really good idea to do the fight there (Poland).

It’s a great opportunity. They’re opening four new

stadiums this year in anticipation for the 2012 European soccer Championships. When I learned about these wonderful chains of events, I got in touch with all four of them and we narrowed it down to one. Wroclaw really wanted the fight badly and we were able to make a really nice deal with them. It was so much money. The Klitschko’s, who are good businessmen and certainly understand the value of opening a new market in Europe. There will be 45,000 people there; it will be sold out. It will be the biggest event of any kind, sports or otherwise, held in Poland. Too good a deal to pass up.

Yes, these are two mega fights.

I think after this fight, Vitali will push for Valuev one more time, and if he can't get that, he'll go ahead and bow out.........40 years old and still kicking everyone's ass.

But he's gotta get by Adamek first.. I think the determining factor will be just how tough Adamek really is. Vitali will certainly test his toughness, and push him to the limit, if not KO him, altogether, as he did Solis.

Adamek's left testicle alone is bigger than Povetkin's entire body.

    On topic:

Adamek will attempt to cruise to a comfortable points win, trying to come in with a few quick shots and then run the rest of the round. He figures that a 40 year old Vitali is ripe for the taking, if you're brave, have a good chin and your legs don't break under you with the first punch you take. This fight will definitely go the distance, and given the home field advantage, the result might be closer than most people anticipate. I predict a 115-113 on judges cards win for Klitschko, with a more realistic score being 117-111 or 118-110 by the press and independent observers.

Adamek is fast enough to move around stay away and Vitali may just be slowing enough who knows

some how i think adamek cant play keep away the whole fight and if he stands still it could be big trouble

I seriously doubt that Big Vit is gonna go for the kill right away. He complained recently that his opponents don't last long enough when he goes all out. He might just take 3-4 rounds off to let Adamek warm up. Although for his sake, I hope he doesn't. Adamek is not the kinda man you take lightly, he is a true warrior and despite not having the same KO power he did in light-heavy, he is still a respectable puncher with a granite chin.

In all likelihood, he will use the Byrd fight as a template. Although what are the odds Vitaliy will get a shoulder injury again :think

By the way, Adamek's superior speed will be offset by Don Vito's reach. That man's hands are low the whole fight, which allows him to throw stopping hook-appercut-god knows whats from every possible angle.

Yea but none of those guys are American, so for a general American public heavyweight will still be dead. Dickheads on HBO will keep calling for a "true" heavyweight champion, preferably black and born in united states :blood

his is going to be an excellent bout. I believe this bout has a shot to be Fight of the Year! I hate the HW division but I love to guys who are true sweet scientist! 2 truly great boxers. One old and one not so old. The makings of a great bout!
