I think Chambers would probably beat Povetkin in a rematch. Kinda hard to say tho, cause we haven't seen Povetkin at all with his new trainer and you and I both know Atlas is a great trainer so he defiantly improved under his watch.
Adamek is bigger than you think and "massive" punches are only as powerful as the physical law of mass times acceleration.
Adamek could be on some weight gainers, but he does not appear as being on high doses of muscle building stuff. He has a bigger neck and face, but he doesn't look like a rino on roids like Briggs or Sapp. Or having a wax body like Haye after he went extremely up in weight, or Brewster when he fought Golota. I don't know why Eddie's activity level dropped in the later rounds, but I seriously doubt it was Povetkin landing shots on Chambers midsection. Povetkin isn't a huge puncher and Chambers can take a punch. Chambers simply threw the fight away, I think it was more of a mental thing combined with the way he boxes.
povetkin was the better man, and won. he wanted it more. chambers was overweight, but povetkin had the flu. chambers landed some beautiful shots, but appeared disheartened that povetkin kept coming at him. povetkin threw big combinations, you don't get heavyweights throwing that many shots, and he could not match it. chambers just wanted to sit back, use great defense and counter with right hands, toney-style. povetkin adjusted. it was ugly, but he found a way. notice how povetkin finished his combos with a double left hand. this got in the way of, intercepted, chambers' right hand counter. it was a gutsy performance by povetkin, in which he showed underrated skills and a lot of desire to beat a highly talented american.
He is on the sausage juice. You know after you boil sausage there is a nice greasy broth left over!!! Hotdog water gives you more vigor and longer sustained boners:deal
for some reason everyone on these adamek threads seems to sleep on povetkin. povetkin, the next heavyweight champion...
i think povetkin won his title eliminators too early in his career. basically, with wins over byrd and chambers, he doesn't have to fight any contender, because he has already earned his shot. it's just a case of taking the wlad fight, when he is physically, tactically and mentally ready. with all the inactivity, injury, illness, he's not built up the momentum in the past 18 months. i fully expect him to beat wlad, and herald a new era of smaller heavyweights who throw more punches and engage in lively exciting fights...
On the other hand, it's practically a three man division that could use the addition of another. Maybe he can't beat either Klitschko or Haye, but he'd be competitive to anyone else in the division and a nice boost in the overall heavyweight talent pool. A good fight is still a good fight and he can provide that for us in a division we often lament.
You're right he isn't a tremendous one punch puncher, though he does decent power, but I am not talking about knockout power here. I am talking about accumulation, a guy beating up on your midsection will eventually tire you out, especially if that guy is a skilled heavy with a decent punch.
I wouldn't take him over either Klitschko, but Haye hasn't been impressive at heavy and I could see Adamek beating him. The Valuev win was weak stuff, and both Chagaev and Holyfield had better showings, while the Barrett win made Haye look exciting but very vulnerable.
