Adamek looked quick and slick, but I'm surprised he couldn't stop the overweight and absolutely awful Kevin McBride. He'll have a tough time in September. And McBride needs to retire ASAP....he doesn't look like a professional boxer at all...he was even worse than I expected. On a side note, Jameel McCline did a fine job of commentating. I'd like to hear him again.
That was a very good fight for Tomasz. He clowned McBride with his speed and defense. I agree that he will have a tough fight in September, but it cant be any different. Vitali is an excellent boxer, however he becomes older. Adamek didnt need to KO McBride, he won every round and didnt take any risk, it was very smart in my opinion. I was afraid of Tomasz, when McBride was fouling him (holding and hitting in the back of the head, trying to stand on Adamek's feet)
No it wasn't it was a ****ing joke, It was a joke from the moment it was signed. Fighting bums doesn't help you with ****, all it does is teach you how to make mistakes and he is going to be on the painful end of that lesson in September.
Vitali is older but his style is the same and he's always in shape. Adamek is amongst the best the division has to offer. I look forward to a good hard fight.
I agree he fought smartly, but McBride offered virtually no offense. Kevin also blocked a lot of Adamek's punches...it seemed Tomaz would land a crisp punch, but couldn't land a second one in a row. He's a great fighter, but he'd be a lot safer a cruiser. He'll trouble Vitali for a few rounds, then will get swatted. Don't get me wrong -I like him- and I'll be cheering my ass off for him in that fight.
I really would love for Wlad to knock out Haye, Tomasz decisioning Vitali and then having a unification fight.
Too true, unfortunately. How did this fight prepare him for Klitschko? He was fighting a fat punching bag, he should at least win this via TKO, pepper the lumbering oaf with punches, cut him, whatever. He never had McBride in trouble so how is he going to get Klitschko's respect? His speed won't be enough and his accuracy plain sucked last night - McBride's shitty defense was enough to make him miss. Finally, his stamina, which was always his strong point, also failed him, he was huffing and puffing more than the lardass. So this was a PPV sparring session which proves without a shadow of a doubt Adamek doesn't belong in the same ring with Vitali. Good job!
not so good fight for Tomasz, but we must be aware. Adamek has no KO power, he could win on points , he could drop oponent while out of balance.Adamek got to small punching power to put somebody to sleep in HW.But on points he can win with Vitali
I'm surprised how little power Adamek carried over from his CW days when he was a feared puncher. Unlike Haye he seems to be helplessly feather fisted at HW. But I think he might have chosen the right Klitschko because outpointing Vitali at this stage of his career appears more possible than it ever has (not a big chance at all but Adamek vs. prime Vitali would be irresponsible). Wlad on the other hand would be a horrendous match up for Adamek as he wouldn't be able to KO Wlad and outpointing Wladimir is close to impossible.
Respect to Mcbride for lasting the distance. Everybody on here thougt he would get blown away in less than 6 rounds.
Adamek has almost no hope of winning against VK. His only chance is an shoulder (or similar) injury, like Vitali got against Byrd.
