After watching Adamek basically walk down Dawson without throwing any shots round after round I thought he may have thrown the fight. A while after the fight I read that he was mixed up in organized crime which almost confirmed it. -> http://208.89.218.153/news_details.php?NW=1415 (This news also made it to the newspapers nationwide. Then I watch the fight last night and that again showed that Adamek is fast enough to hit a speedster and has superb power. There is no way that Dawson won that fight without Adamek's help. Anybody else have the same thought?
No, he tried his best. He just had a lot of trouble making weight, and ran into a P4P talent. Let's hope for a rematch at a catchweight, it could be the biggest fight soon for both men, with Calzaghe retiring.
OK , if you say so tough guy. Of course there never is any corruption in boxing so I better "shut the **** up".
Adamek has too much pride to do that, trust me. He is a "goral" (highlander) and those polish guys don't mess around, when it comes to discipline, pride and determination. The guy who is writing about doping is a past associate of Adamek's camp and is probably bitter for being terminated. Nothing more than unconfirmed rumours. There were other problems with this fight - the weight issues, no usual career long Polish trainer, just Buddy and his curse and Adamek's wicked comprehension of English. And then of course there is Dawson doing his magic. Speed and skill wise, Dawson is a notch above Cunningham (Cunni has a better chin and I believe, better power than Chad). All of this combined and Adamek hit the wall during that fight.
I agree. Adamek is very similar to Kessler. They fight the same way. Straight forward with basic boxing combinations jab right and left hook. Adamek Kessler would be a great fight
I don't think Adamek threw that fight. Dawson was just better that night. Adamek was having weight issues, and also got sick a day or two before the fight, and therefore his crappy performance. He got out worked for the majority of the fight, and didnt even throw many punches. Once he opened up towards the end he did much better, but it was a little too late.
I don't know about whipping his ass, it was Dawson that almost got stopped, not Adamek. Boxing his ears off in the early to mid rounds is more like it.
Assuming you are an Adamek fan? If so arent you saying you like a guy who throws fights? Maybe Dawson is just better than Cunningham
Adamek had trouble making the weight, and Dawson was the better fighter that night. Adamek fought the wrong fight to begin with, he had no chance of outboxing Chad, and should have pressured him and used his strength and physicality as opposed to trying to jab with him.
3. Adamek has trouble with southpaws. I actually think the third point is the biggest one. He just couldn't figure out how to set up his offense, and thus he had trouble pulling the trigger all night.
