Adamek No 1 WBO

Theres no way in hell Adamek deserved a title shot just for beating Arreola. Let him fight some other top contenders, like Tua, Chambers, Chagaev, guys like that, let him win 2-3 fights like that then give him a title shot. FFS people get title shots now and days after 1 decent win.

 

They are interested in Haye-Klit or Haye vs Adamek but we all know who the unwilling party is.

 

And who are the champions going to fight in the meantime?

They've only even shown Adamek once iirc and that was because he was fighting an HBO fighter (who they are no longer going to show).

 

I believe they'd take a Wlad vs. Adamek fight, especially if it was in Atlantic City. I live in New Jersey and Adamek has thousands of Polish fans in the area. They'd take that fight for sure. They might also take Haye vs. Adamek. I just don't think Haye would.

Well, you can thank David Haye and Valuev for that. They set a terrible precedent when Haye got a shot with no legitimate heavyweight wins on is resume. Adamek's is certainly no worse. In fact, its better than when Haye got his shot.

 

Because that's the first time in boxing history that a champion stepping up from a lower division has got a voluntary title shot with little (or no) experience in the division in question? Rofl, 'set a terrible precedent', have a word with yourself!

There's a big difference between a fighter going up four to six pounds in the lower weight classes and a fighter going up to heavyweight, where there obviously is no weight limit. I sincerely hope you grasp this. It really isn't compatschlicated.

 

HBO are interested in Adamek, if he fights for a title in US, this would be on HBO (possibly PPV), I dont have source (about PPV), its just my opinion. Fight with Arreola was on HBO, so why not to make a lot bigger fight on HBO PPV?

Adamek was the man at CW. He had 3 good wins (beating a contender) and now is fighting his 4th fight at HW. Its natural that he is high in rankings. I think that he chose much more proper way to the title shot than Haye, who didnt deserve the fight against Valuev (Barett and Bonin werent even close to be in top10...).

 

I didn't realise that was relevant to your argument and that heavyweights should somehow have to prove themselves at the weight more before getting a title shot.

Oh well, have Michael Spinks or Roy Jones, terrible precedents, terrible.
