Adamek isnt getting any younger. His boxing skills are not improving, it seems to me he is at the pinnacle of his ability. I think he is as ready as he is ever going to be. From a financial standpoint I think the longer he waits and the more fights he has the greater the risk that something happens to him and he loses. We saw evidence of him being badly hurt last night via the 6th rd chicken dance. He is coming off a some good wins, his stock is pretty high. I believe he can easily make the biggest purse of his lfie right now vs Wlad. The fight in germany would be huge with a massive Polish following there, sell out in a minute. He now has experience fighting a guy taller and longer reach than wlad and he was able to land pretty smoothly and impress. This is a massive fight and they can make it early in 2011.
I don't think he would stand a better chance againsed Wlad by waiting so yeah I agree he should give it a go ASAP if the chance comes.
Regardless of how well he would do IMo, right now he is as good as he is going to get. his stock is likely as high as it is going to get unless he takes another dangerous fight at heavy. All it takes is one loss and he could ruin his biggest payday of his life. hey Goral make the challenge!:deal
Well Adamek obviously isnt just about making money. He wants to do it right and if he thinks he needs more fights to prepare he'll do that.
Bring on the Wladimir. I wish Adamek the best and would be rooting for him against either Klitschko. I don't know how he'll deal with Wlad's jab and power though.
I wish him the best too. The guy is a credit to the sport.:good he has shown us he can beat some top 15 HW's and IMO is deserving of a shot at a HW belt. I am sure Adamek isnt afraid of Wlad. The fight will be huge in europe and IMo even if Adamek loses he wont lose stock in the HW division. I think it is time for this fight to come off.
Who else can he fight to prepare for the Klitschkos though? Outside of Tony Thompson and Dimitrenko, there aren't many tall decent heavys out there to prepare him. Thompson and Dimitrenko won't help much either. I don't see anything more that Adamek can do to prepare.
:goodYep. Adamek's lateral movement would give Wladimir something to worry about, and who knows, with Wladimir fighting very cautiously sometimes, maybe good things can happen for Adamek. Sometimes all you need is the courage and Adamek has plenty of that.
I agree and what is more important here, well should be from a business perspective is the fact that by fighting a Tony Thompson Adamek could easily lose a fight like this. TT is a good fighter. Another tall guy like Julius Long? For real? Use em as sparring partners and make it a full camp. I dont think Adamek fighting anymore tall guys at heavy will make him anymore prepared than sparring said guys in his camp. This is the time to start making the fight. Adamek will make huge money and it will be exciting to see 2 top guys in there.
Using Julius long is a good idea. That's who Haye used for big V and was successful. I also think that Adamek would give Wlad a good challenge because he's not afraid like some of Wlad's recent opponents.
It's not all about money but he certianly is hoping for that big payday. Difference is he's not a ***** like Haye or Povetkin and won't avoid anything. Thompson is a southpaw though. Dimitrenko, Austin, Liakhovich would be the best Klychko preperation fights if he does take 1 more. Mayeb Ustinov too.
