Decent article from Fightnews. Roger Bloodworth is working with both Adamek & David Tua in Ziggys gym in Jersey City. They are following a good plan for TA. First, work on his movement so he has a better defense. He showed that against Arreola. Now that have have figured that out, its time to refine the movement & start on the next key factor to victory in the HW Div. I like Adamek, but he has plenty of technical flaws he needs to iron out before he is going to be defensively sound, his balance is not particularly good , particularly when going backwards, he fights with his head in the air, goes back in straight lines when attacked, does not use much head-movement. He has this way of taking lots of little steps over when using lateral movement instead of one big step and then pivoting, thats one of the problems i see with him, he sorta shuffles his feet and takes lots of little baby steps really quickly to get out the way.
Good for him. He has his doubters but he has so much heart and determination that makes me never want to doubt him again.
People complaining about Adamek's skill when he's taken one of the harder routes during his trip at heavy. You guys are priceless. Golota, Estrada and Arreola.
I dont mean to be overly critical of him, its just that as he goes further he is going to need more than what he has shown so far.
I have a feeling that Adamek will have to do a lot more than David Haye did at heavyweight in order to earn a title shot, when he probably deserves one a lot sooner.
while im not 100% sold on Ademek...you got to love his activity.... since 4-19-2008 8 fights and will have his 9th fight in august Where as David "WHO?" Haye since 3-8-2008 4 fights
Even at cruiser. Bell, Gomez, Cunningham and Banks in under a year. Thats impressive. All these people who claim Adamek doesn't fight the way they want him too, well....whats wrong? Hes only lost once, and arguable to one of the ebst fighters in the world today.... Hes beaten the best at Cruiser, top fighters in L. Heavy and he is destroying the Heavyweight scene like its going out of style. Don't like Adamek?....simple....dont watch him. Cause I dont know about the haters, but this sport needs more fighters like Tomasz.
excatly he fights all the time, people know him....and he doesnt cancel, pull out or make excuses.....hes a throwboack....and boxing needs him....
Its good to see all the positive remarks. But what else can a true fan say about him? He is all that is good for the sport. A true warrior with brains & skills. And lets not forget about This content is protected This content is protected I'm really proud of him & planning on going to the gym to meet him again & watch him train. Be ready for more Adamek/JETSKI photos! :happy
According to the article David Tua is 5'2".. how funny would he have looked against Lennox Lewis if that was true.
I agree. He has lots of defensive flaws and its obvious he's in a learning stage with Bloodworth. His defense is far from ideal but lets not act as though Adamek is totally incompetant defensively the way his detractors sometimes say. In addition to the movement, I feel he puts himself in a position to be hit, because he wants to hit the other guy and feels that he will win most exchanges, which he does. His chin is the great neautralizer of his defensive flaws. Also, let's not forget that Wlad went through a major successful defensive overhaul and learning period with Steward, late in his career too.
Even Boothe admitted that Haye probably did not deserve a title shot against Valuev. Of course, he was being charitable by using the word probably. Haye definitely didn't deserve a title shot.
Adamek addresses some of the above points in the article: You’re working on… More natural, fluid movement. During the Arreola fight it was better than before, but still I was wasting too much energy. I need to be more elusive – head movement, body movement: everything has to work simultaneously. Rome was not built in one day. For ten years I’ve trained with Andrzej Gmitruk, now is the time to pick up new ideas.
One of not many complaints about your exciting, throwback style of boxing is not having enough power to beat the best guys like the Klitschkos. You were and are winning the fights, rivals after spending some time in the ring with you look using Chris Arreolas quote like Shrek. But they are still standing We are working on my power, especially right hand power. When I was winning world titles in the light heavyweight and cruiserweight division, quantity of punches, accuracy was enough. It was my style and worked perfectly. Now, with the bigger guys more power is needed. I know this, Roger Bloodworth knows this. I will still be a fighter who will confuse everybody in front of me with speed and combinations, but the right hand, hitting with all the power of my legs and upper body, will finish fights. I trust Roger the jab will prepare my victim, the right hand will finish it. Its time for power.
