I think a lot of people, including some Adamek fans, have concluded that TA has not brought his power up to HW and has no chance of knocking out Wlad or any top heavyweight. However, let's not forget that the 2 heavyweights Adamek failed to KO (Estrada & Arreola) are noted for having great chins, with Estrada having an exceptional one.
Nice little read and thanks in advance for the photos. Indeed, Adamek does have cheeen. Even more important though, he's got a great work ethic.
The fact that Adamek held up to Arreola's punches is a good sign, Arreola may be sloppy as hell but he does have raw KO power. You could tell Adamek was pretty uncomfortable with the power at first but I think he adjusted and gained confiedence. That game plan of getting inside, throwing combinations, and moving out will be effective against just about any heavyweight outside of Wlad. For Wlad Adamek does have to get better side to side movement and work on his big shots as that is Wlad's weakness.
Well you can believe Arreola just got tired, I'm more inclined to believe that Adamek put in really good work to the body early on and it paid off. To me that was a classic case of a fighter weaked in the mid/late rounds from body punches. You can believe that Adamek would get beat by Wlad, because he probably would. However I don't think his win over Arreola should be dismissed, because he Adamek took a calcutated risk by going inside like that, I feel like his cruiserweight counter part David Haye would not have had so much guts. I think Adamek knows it's a fool's paradise to try boxing on the outside against these much rangier oppenents, might be safer but not a way to win.
Adamek is guy they call a Warrior. i respect guy and what he does. boxing really need guys like him. that being said if he fights Klitschkos I think after that he might considering to go back mining copper.:think He should target Haye first for his own good and would be great fight too, but you got to respect him even more if he targets the real guys at Hw, Klit Bros.:good
With Adamek selecting Grant as his next fight, it looks like he's targetting the K-Bros. I think TA and co know Haye will never face anyone dangerous before he gets an ideal offer to fight Wlad when WK passes his primes. Until then, get used to Haye fighting undeserving fighters like Harrisson or recycled ones like Valuev and Ruiz. Heck it would surprise the hell out of me, if Haye had enough balls to even fight Arreola at this stage.
wobbly legs? Please tell me you're not talking about the 5th round. I never saw Adamek wobbly or buzzed in that fight. Minus the 5th round stumbling we saw due to the sole of his boot coming apart, the most I saw was Adamek retreating at times from Arreola's attack. As much as Adamek never had Arreola in any trouble thesame can be said for Arreola failing to have Adamek in trouble as well.
What part of Arreola is a 'small' Heavy? Adamek handled Nipples, he would be a huge fight for Haye or either Klitschko. 1-2 more fights against top HW competition and he deserves a title shot, not that he doesn't already deserve one but he needs to work on his publicity.
When Adameck beats a top guy im sold. If im being totally honest I dont think he has what it takes to beat either Klitschko or Haye, and I also think he is very overrated for what he is... BUT he is a helluva lot better than pretty much the rest of the HW bumfest going on at the moment (Aside from Solis), all the best to him. Anyway back to the point at hand its good to see he is improving on power because he really needs some, he could do with some slicker defensive movement and footwork too, aside from that he is all good, he has some nice speed, a good chin, decent skills and a good punch output.
I myself would like to see how Tomaz negotiates his way around a considerably taller man, using his legs and darting in and out might not be as effective against that type of opponent, so he might have to make it a more high contact fight and put the pressure on, problem i see with that, is he might be open himself as he comes foward, now its okay taking the odd shot from Cunningham, Dawson, but a HW who can bang? hopefully he can use more headmovent and not fight with his head so high, what Adamek does really effectively when coming foward though, is apply steady pressure, he sort makes you lead because he stalks you and puts that mental pressure on you where you feel like you have to throw, then he nails with the big right hand when he sees his spot, he is also a good body puncher.
Yeah same here, I think Adamek stands a good chance against anyone his own size aisde from Haye and MAYBE Solis, I can see him being stuck on the end of someone like a Klitschkos Jab all night, and not having the power to keep a strong agressive fighter away from him. At some points in the Arreola fight he got clipped and trapped in corners, aswell as struggling to use his movement to get out the way of Arreola, who in all honesty has poor footspeed and very average footwork. He definatly has to step it up, but he definatly can. :thumbsup
I think the Haye fight would be very interesting, Haye has the power to put Adamek away imo, now i know he(Adamek) has a good chin, good recuperative powers, but i dont think he would stand up to Haye's power, plus he is hittable at times, however on the other side of that, Haye does not have the greatest stamina imo, neither a great chin, it would be either a short night for Haye, or a long night where by he gets stopped in the mid to late rounds.
Does it mean that Adamek and Tua will never fight each other? Too bad, these fight is one of those interesting fights in the HW division.
