Yep you're right. It's Haye who brings all the PPV money. Like I've said, I'm not Haye's greatest fan. He's chinny and isn't going to be the future of the division anyway. The titles will be splitting up in the next year even more than they are now. I do like the excitement that he brings to the division. It needs more of it.
Not really. No one pays to see Haye fight a bum either, yet when he fights a Klit, people pay, so the Klits bring the money if you want to put that spin on it. I went to see Vitali spark Peter and Arreola, but I haven't bothered with any of his other comeback fights. Tell me, what has Haye done in HW which was worth paying for? I'd also go to see Adamek fight a Klit.
Geez Ipp, what your excited about Haye and his t-shirts! Actions speak louder than words when it comes to excitement doesn't it and he ain't bringing no actions! If he backed up his boasts, I'd be right behind him, but facts are facts, he ain't!
By boasting how he'll fight them and spank them, but fact's stand, not actually fighting them! Shades of Mundine with Cotto, Mayweather, etc, etc...
Haye v Valuev did 800,000 Pay Per View buys and his demolition of Ruiz did 600,000. Haye v Ordinary Harrison was expected to do 700,000, but I never checked the final tally. It's not really debatable mate. Haye is the only Heavyweight who even fights on PPV. Sure Main Event try and sell you a Klitschko fight on PPV every now and then, but it doesn't happen all over the world. As for your question about what has Haye done at HW worth paying for - nothing. I don't think there's many fights in boxing that are truly worthy of paying to see it live... though watching the beating Ruiz endured made me happy for the misery Ruiz brought to the division.
Ippy, you and I are mates so I don't doubt you personally, but please provide some sort of reference/source to those figures as they are ridiculous! If they are right, no wonder the guy is a cat looking for easy pickings, he's just going to that well over and over till it dries!
No, it went to the bottom a long time ago! Same horse, different jockey. Haye and Mundine talk it up, but don't make it happen. Judging by the PPV figures both attract, why would they. Fight nobodies and get paid vasts sum's of money!
Are you sure? You seem to be mentioning him more than just about anyone else on here! I reckon Ash may have converted you... They're not even comparable and you should know better really. So therefore I can only assume you're at the wind up!
I said who would pay to see Haye fight a This content is protected . :nono Valuev wasn't a bum at that point and had a high ranking, and he was certainly no bum to Haye. Similar for Ruiz. These were Hayes first few fights in HW. Let him continue to fight Fraudleys and see where his PPV's go. Because he's the new HW sensation who is going to knock the Klits off their perch, according to some. Umm yeh, because they've cleaned out the HW division, there's no one left to fight. What numbers did Vitali get for Peter and Arreola? Exactly. Eh? Did you mean to say that?
You can look as long as you want for numbers, you won't find any. Neither of them were PPV fights, except in Australia (if the Peter fight was shown by Main Event, I didn't pay attention). Absolutely. There's a select few fights that are worthy of PPV, especially in recent years with the US promoters building "an event" and having a **** undercard. The **** we get force fed by Main Event is a joke. Most of them aren't PPV's anywhere else.
That pisses me right off, we have to pay $50 for fights on main event and most of these the brits get live on sky sports for no extra cost, the fights that main event won't put on we might get on fox about 6 weeks later on a thursday night. I was hoping oneHD might pick up a few decent cards from the states but that doesn't look like happening.
