This echo's Tarver-Hopkins. B-Hop stepping up to fight a much bigger guy & the #1 in the division again. And the result would be the same.
Bhop is the master at controlling fights and making people look bad, he is an expert at controling fights because he is a strong guy and a clever boxer. It's a big ask imposing his style on a guy like Adamek. If Bhop and Adamek fought i think Adamek would win 6-7 times out of 10.
I will take Adamek on UD. Nobody knows what Bhop will look like at this new weight. Even if he comes into the ring at 180-185 like he says he would. The extra weight will not help Hopkins, if anything it will only slow him down, and take away from his stamina. Adamek is no Pavlik, not even close. So those who keep making that comparison are selling Adamek short. Nothing against Pavlik. Adameks corner needs to come up with a good gameplan to tire Hopkins, and take away some of his attributes. Also they need to come up with a plan B, and maybe C. Adamek is a well disciplined, smart fighter, with a great corner, so I am confident they will not take this fight lightly, and will be ready. Adamek SHOULD be able to win this fight. I pick UD, but would love a KO victory by Adamek. If this fight comes off, it will be a hell of a matchup. elo qwertyz
I don't see it echoing Tarver-Hopkins anywhere past the fact that Hopkins would be moving up to fight Adamek. That's about it.
There won't be extra weight. Hopkins isn't stupid enough to bulk up to 200lb and take away his speed of hand & foot. Regardless, I bet you said the same when he moved up to from 160 to 175. Didn't do anything to his hand speed. At 44 and 15lb heavier he's still as a quick as ever. He doesn't need the extra poundage, his defence and chin are good enough to cope with Adamek's weight advantage.
I never said he would come into the ring weighing 200lbs. He himself has said he will come in weighing around 185. He will be moving up some pounds from his previous fights, and we are yet to see him at that weight. From the Tarver fight he is still moving up some pounds, he is 3 years older now, and fighting a young, and capable, proper CW champion, whom many were picking over Tarver when he was still at 175. I understand Hopkins is a big name, and his reputation proceeds him, but he is still human, not superman like some seem to make him out to be.
