so because haye fought a **** fighter its ok for adamek too? mcbride is a d level fighter, he got beat by matt skelton in 3 rounds!
Adamek has a date with Wlad. No one expected this fight in April to be against a live opponent. Duva and Co will not risk a $5 million dollar pay off and I doubt Adamek had much to say in the matter. The point is, this situation is totally different than Haye's since Haye was inactive and had no title fight lined up.
This fight is it isn't worth buying or watching, which is why it shouldn't get made. They better get a good undercard for this....
man wlads tune up vs derek chisora now looks like a genuine match up:-( i hope wlad destroys the fraud.
Once adamek signed to fight klitschko I only wanted a fighter to meet two criteria. 1) zero risk. 2) allow adamek to look impressive. This meets both of them. Why should adamek have to fight top ten opponents every fight, he isn't even a champ. Just a challenger. He has his title shot lined up so the pressure of a big name victory has been removed. Fingers crossed it is vitali he fights because he has no chance vs wlad.
Really Adamek? A rubber match with Michael Grant would have been better. Jesus Christ? Is McBride out of rehab yet?
Are you seriously comparing these two? Adamek is using McBride as a tune-up fight for a scheduled title shot against Klitschko in September. David Haye used his voluntary defense to give Audley Harrison a title shot! This after laughing at the prospect of that matchup happening beforehand. Even though we all know that he could have fought much better opponents or a unification fight while he was free from his WBA mandatory. All of this... and Haye still isn't giving the fans the fights they want to see. Challengers can fight whoever the hell they want to fight. As can a Champion if he is just staying active in between bigger fights. However, you can't sit on your ass for huge spans of time and waste your voluntary defense on a joke like Audley Harrison. Then cry and complain a half year later when you are forced now to fight a mandatory fight, and the other fighters in the division aren't willing to put their careers and money on hold so you can sit on your ass for another 6 months.
Haye fought a **** fighter as a title defense....Adamek is fighting a **** fighter for a stay busy fight for his future bout with the best HW in the world today. Big difference dummy...
I can't say I'm bothered. If he wants to use this as a tune up then so be it. I probably won't be watching it though.
IRISH PRIDE. The Legend Killer / Tyson Retirer returns. GO MCBRIDE. I heard they wuz gonna put vodka in his water bottle for this fight. You heard it here 1st...
People can say it's a tune-up fight but it isn't. It's not a tune-up fight in the slightest and it isn't because McBride poses absolutely no problems. Has anyone saying it's a tune-up actually seen him fight recently? The guy I saw on Prizefighter was a truly awful fighters and I'm not kidding. This isn't a type of guy who will pressure, land a few good shots, take a few without going down and be a decent test. It's a guy who, realistically, should be getting stopped in the first or second round without landing any punches. That's not a tune-up, it's a walkover. A proper tune-up fight is something like Ali fighting a past-prime Quarry or Bonavena, because these guys were tough, decent workrate and would apply good pressure and not get blown out. Fighting a guy with absolutely nothing going for him except a win over a shot Tyson six years ago, doesn't help Adamek. That's the whole point of a tune-up fight, to help prepare a guy for a future fight but how exactly does this help Adamek against Klitschko? It doesn't. I think it actually says a lot about how Adamek's team rate his chances against Klitschko. If they consider Rahman or Peter too tough a challenge and have to stop as low as McBride, who should realistically be banned from fighting, then you know they don't have much confidence in him. That's a shame. Adamek truly isn't a top level fighter at heavyweight and I think his team are showing a true lack of confidence in avoiding an old, fat, never-was like Peter and picking an even poorer fighter in McBride as a "tune-up" instead. I don't really care who he fights. He stands absolutely no chance against Wlad, so maybe it's pointless. I just feel sorry for the fans who will buy a complete mismatch of a fight. McBride doesn't belong in boxing any more, sadly, and this is a farcical fight to sell to the public. These bouts shouldn't be sold to the general public who don't understand that McBride has absolutely no chance. I can't fault Adamek for being active. He's a proud warrior and I'm a fan. His team are, sadly, I think, milking him for all he's worth before the inevitable annihilation against Klitschko.
Harrison > Chisora > McBride. At least he was European champion. Something Chisora will never be and McBride was never more than a journeyman at his peak, years and years ago.
