If Adamek wans't already signed to face one of the Klitschkos in September than this would be awful. But he's facing one of the brothers next so there is no way he's risking that shot and payday. A lot of fighters would simply sit until September so atleast he's staying busy, which is one of the reasons Adamek has a lot of fans in the first place. I have no interest in this fight but I don't see a problem with it either, as long as the Klitschko fight comes off in September.
it is a nothing keep busy tune up fight. but it will only hurt adamek not to fight a tougher test in preperation for klitschko. someone like fury or david price for the hieght, reach and jab would be acceptable. but i suppose he might have them as sparring partners for klitschko fight. For me,he could fight:dimitrenko, ustinov, helanius.and they would all get him somewhat adjusted to fighting a tall reachy opponent. he needs to make sure his opponent and sparring partners have strong jabs, and comparable hand speed to klitschkos.
If Adamek wasn't signed to fight Klitschko you better believe he'd be facing someone much higher in the division.
Do you know how many fights shouldnt happen because of it being a 'mismatch'? Given Adameks small size and lack of physicality at heavyweight, this is no more a mismatch then a plethora of heavyweight fights that have happened in the last 10 years. And McBride actually stands to probably take less physical damage in this fight then most of the other mismatches that occur in the sport. This fight is SUPPOSED to be a mismatch, does anyone in their right mind think Adamek would take a challenge on the eve of the most important, and dangerous, fight of his career? And if your about cleaning up 'mismatches' from the sport of boxing, more power to you, youve got a long line that starts waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before Adamek vs McBride. Someone singling out this fight as some sort of anomaly, horror, and 'new low' is absurd. It is what it is, a gimme, showcase win while on the verge of a heavyweight championship fight.
Im ok with this fight, id prefer something he will win easy and not get a cut or anything and **** up a Wlad fight
I don't think Adamek would ever stand a chance against Wlad but his opposition has been seriously poor recently, to the point where if it was once a 50/50 fight, you'd now favour Wlad confidently. What the people defending this should understand, is that the bout ultimately will hurt Adamek's chances even more. Don't defend this if you're a fan because it's only going to hurt your man.
he is not my man,he is the same edia hype as hey but with lill bit bigger b***ls.and i do not want to blame him for slucking of, making sure he will present at vlad or vit fight.yhis will be his biggest pay day to the rest of his life.we could blame the haye for all same to.
Good post, Bogie. Have to agree with what you say. And the good thing is he's fighting another giant. Better to get that kind of target practice in before a Klit fight. Better fight than if they picked Rahman. He doesn't have Klit size & this is what Adamek must figure out how to attack. He did well against his 1st giant, Michael Grant. ((((((((GO GORAL)))))))))
He's facing a Klitschko next so it's highly unlikely he'll win. At least he has a very, very, VERY high chance to beat McBride and pick up an almost guaranteed win before getting in a fight he most likely will lose.
I'm aware of his limitations as a fighter and this fight should not be taking place however your comments and those of others on here are uncalled for. I would also suggest you study the sport more, these type of fights happen all the time. There's no point engaging in name calling just because your completely ignorant of his career.. McBride is not a disgrace... he never threw a fight, he never ducked anyone (although he should be ducking Adamek right now!) and he never tested positive for EPO
