    Adamek vacates IBF belt

Tomasz Adamek has formally vacated his IBF cruiserweight title. In a letter written to Marian Muhammad, President of the International Boxing Federation, Adamek expressed his regret in having to vacate the title and thanked the IBF for the opportunities he was given. He stated, “I am not leaving the IBF family. I will be fighting October 24 against Andrew Golota for the IBF International heavyweight title in Lodz, Poland. Further, when possible I hope to return to reclaim my IBF title.”

Sounds like he may be leaving the door open to return to CW one day. I still don't understand why he made this move to HW as soon as he did. I guess he feels time is running out to score some big paydays & the $$$ is @ HW.

THIS BLOWS...so much for a much deserved rematch for Steve Cunningham. Thomasz's dealings with Hopkins rub off on him too much that he's seems to becoming all about the money suddenly? First, a pointless fight with a shot pot shotter in Golota, what next? Pull Tyson out of retirement?

Adamek's biggest TV and payday will be against Golota on October 24th. What the hell are you talking about? Neither Showtime or HBO wanted to pay for a Cunningham rematch.

If he can beat Andy handily he'll get a shot at Klits.
