That's ridiculous. Would Arreola weigh 230 at less than 15% body fat? Only Cristobal and his camp know the answer and Adamek's team doesn't care about what people on ESB say about not considering Arreola as an opponent at any weight.
Yes he would. Arreola in his fight against Vitali weighed 250. He was still visibly overweight Having been working with athletes long as I have, his BF% was 20+ easily. I'll be conservative and say its 20-25% So at 15% he would weigh 225-237 pounds. Arreola is an endomorphic bodytype, he is never going to look ripped. But there is no way in hell he should be as overweight as he is. 250 should be what he weighs in between fights. He should be in true fighting shape in the 230s.
I totally agree 250 between fights at the most. Its clear CA doesnt have discipline about food and thats where I blame his team. They need to watch it for him
To be fair, I don't think Arreola's girth let him down against Vitali. I think he was just purely outclassed by a better fighter. I guess what I'm getting at is....it's not a detriment yet so I don't see him changing anything.
very cool:good They watch everything we do. So do many boxers , trainers, and promoters as well. I have seen them on ESB myself:good
Where I think its a detriment is that Team Arreola has spend so much time on losing 30,40,60 lbs to get into shape that it takes time away from fine tuning his boxing skill, or working on something new for the game plan
Ahh this is a very good point. Very good. But if this was the case, You'd figure they would've made some drastic changes by now. For instance it was reported by Goosen and his people that Arreola came in way above the mark they wanted him at against McCline but he wasn't punished for it. Basically as long as he knocks out some cans, people will stay quiet.
I agree. IMO if CA really wants to get to "the next level" it has to come from HIM. He needs to be 100% committed to becoming champ. Im not so sure he has the discipline for it. What so many dont realize is that its ALL YEAR discipline not just the 7-8 weeks in camp
Yeah, exactly. Look at the Klits. Those guys are training 365. Chris is going to have to want it desperately...then want it some more, bleed, cry, beg the gods and then get lucky. He's a B Level fighter talking about A+ Level fighters. Its just not going to happen unless he makes it happen.
I keep revisiting Arreola, yet I cant stop myself. Its disappointing to me being Hispanic to see a Chicano like Arreola waste his god given by not committing to the sport. Boxers are professional athletes. As a professional myself, someone that relies on their body for their craft, it just astounds me to see someone as talented as him waste their natural physical gifts by poor eating habits. I had very high hopes for him when he was rising through the ranks. After seeing him against Vitali though, with him coming into camp 40 pounds overweight, and then his next fight against Minto, being the heaviest of his career Its unfortunate in so many ways
Well said. I agree 100% Maybe Ill help CA out after the brothers retire if CA is still around:yep Actually that is what CA needs.. a chef/nutritionist to help him:deal
He looked more like 25% BF. I figure at 15% he'd weigh around 220 but no way 237. Golota weighed 237 against Byrd and he was ripped... and was probably less that 15% BF.
Yes sir, wieght loss happens in the kitchen (not the gym)... CHEF, what's Wlad's BF? I'm guessing between 10-15%??
