True. I am curious if USS is able to make LHW limit... He usualyy weighs during the weigh-in about 190-195 pounds, and limit is 200, so I think that he could make 175.
Yes in the future. If he gets the IBF belt back in March there are maybe a couple fights left at cruiser. I bet in 2011 you will see a jump. And everyone talks about his chin...Every boxer gets tagged and dropped. He's only been down once before the Adamek fight and won that fight. He's never been KO'd just flash kd's. I think there are a few interesting fights at heavy for him. Plus he wants the TV time and money and obviously there is none of that at cruiser...
I think Cunningham would want a rematch if Adamek wins a heavyweight title. That's the only way I can see the fight happening. Light heavyweights have put in good challenges for the heavyweight title (famously, Billy Conn's 1st fight with Joe Louis; more recently, Michael Moorer, reluctantly it seemed, beat Holyfield for the big belts in 1994...). The sad thing is, Adamek will get so much more respect, profile, money, for beating an out of shape Arreola, than for any of the fights vs Briggs, vs Cunningham, Bell, Banks, etc. He will probably get a p4p ranking in the major magazines for beating Arreola. If he wins a heavyeight title, naturally Cunningham would want a rematch. However, Adamek would probably be eyeing up bigger fish.
Williamson or austin for sure wont make fight 2be hbo's main event ,and if any of this fights materializes then its official that arreola ducks adamek
i hope arreola doesn't get his way. it will be a rubbish TV date. angulo-julio is nothing special and arreola vs either of those 2 is appalling. if arreola won't go along with it, get rid of the fat waster.
if arreola won't fight him, how about sam peter? fights in the main events stable, nice in-house fight, surely. heavy bloke, so it'll be a good learning experience. beat him, and you're a top contender in most of the sanctioning bodies, if he isn't already (after the estrada fight). let's face it. the arreolas of the world will want to fight adamek, only if adamek is a world champion. as they say, "That's boxing." Totally overrun by pampered fighters weighing up risk and reward.
if the arreola fight isn't happening, then it looks like adamek will be fighting lots of "low budget" fights like estrada. hopefully if he looks impressive, it will create more interest. there really seems to be limited TV dates at the moment. if he can't get TV dates, i just hope he keeps busy, gets some delayed coverage, and maybe gets a big fight (hopefully a WBA final eliminator - chagaev?) before the end of the year.
No way is Adamek going to be fighting low budget fights if he gets past Estrada. If Arreola is ducking Adamek it just makes Adamek look better and more marketable. He'll move onto bigger and better things even quicker.
