Adamek's reputation for withstanding punishment doesn't exceed Arreola's reputation for administrating punishment IMO. I think TA keeps his head too stationary when he finishes his punches and one of Arreola's wide shots will land on Adamek's head during an exchange, a punch that will knock Adamek into next week.

It's not even a matter of opinion. Adamek is a class above Arreola.

i think adamek's reputation for taking punishment is mainly due to 3 fights at light heavy for the WBC title - 2 narrow wins over briggs and a brave loss to dawson when he came on late. in these fights i felt he showed poor strategy, and weight drain. they were basically his learning curve, his "baptism of fire", after knocking over many bums in poland.

he does not need to fight that way now, and has given numerous smart performances, ranging from bell to banks to golota.

cunningham had him badly hurt in the 3rd or 4th round, but that's because cunningham is so fit, fast and hungry. look what adamek did to turn things round - a crucial knockdown in which he picked the shots beautifully, while under a sustained attack.

i think adame's handspeed will be far more pronounced up at heavyweight and fully expect him to follow holyfield and haye as cruiserweight champs who won heavyweight titles (probably he will win it FROM HAYE).

Adamek has a very leaky defense. He got hit too much by Briggs, Cunningham and even Banks. Chris is going to be in his face all night long and he can take way more punishment than Cunningham while also having more power. I think Chris is just too much for him and will KO him somewhere in the middle rounds.
It's going to be a hell of a fight though...

:good I agree, he is 2 division champ and will become 3rd division champion in near future

The Chris's problem is that Adamek will see his all punches and its impossible for Chris to see all Adamek's punches :nono

Yeah, and whats more, Adamek box better the longer fight goes and its not because he is slow starter - he isnt slow starter, his endurance is very good.

Thats why I want Adamek vs Wlad. Wlad is beatable, Vitali is much tougher.

The Briggs fights took place 5 years ago now. Adamek has learned a LOT since then, and it shows. Cunningham was a faster, rangy, slick boxer. Those are the types of fighters who pose the biggest problems for Adamek.

Arreola is not that type of boxer, and Adamek is faster then Arreola, and will likely use his movement to out box him, and win. Adamek is pretty quick, packs a good punch, and can be pretty explosive as well, especially when he is in trouble.

True. Both Dawson and Cunningham were faster and bigger than Adamek. But they dont have power so they didnt hurt him. Adamek prefers stronger and slower opponents rather than faster boxers with great technique but without much power.

I think that very interesting will be fight between Haye and Adamek. Haye is both fast and strong. I meand Adamek is fast and strong too, so it will be very entertaining fight. And probably chins decides the result :!:

Adamek - Haye would be fireworks.

Honestly speaking it would probably be the most exciting HW fight in years.

Both fast, both strong. Haye isnt as slick as Dawson, or Cunningham imo, and this would be a good thing for Adamek. Chins deciding the result of this one isnt very far off.

The most dangergous for Adamek would be the first few rounds, in such a fight.

Adamek is a very unique fighter, because the bigger he is, the faster he is. I mean at LHW his speed wasnt impressive (althought it was OK). At CW he was pretty fast. And now at HW he is one of the fastest. Whats more his chin is getting better too. He wasnt knocked down since Briggs2 (I dont count Dawson fight, because it wasnt KD). He grows so naturally...

Agree but he did take notice of a Cunningham shot in rd 4 i think (not hurt but he seemed to feel it) and a little wobble against Banks. His chin is the one thing i worry about, i definitely think it's okay just not bulletproof.

Is this incumbent on Adamek beating Estrada or is it on win lose or draw? :think

Obviously getting KTFO would probably see Adamek lose his chance here, but losing a close decision shouldn't...it'd still be an attractive TV-worthy matchup...

Pov has no where near Adamek's resume. Fundamentally he is sound but doesn't excel in any one area. Skillwise they are about thesame but Adamek brings so much more energy, power and killer instinct into his fights. Adamek bulldozes this guy from pillar to post and would have an easier time with him than with Arreola.

I disagree. He was hurt by Cunningham's shot in that round. Maybe he didn't feel pain (because he's a pain freak as was proven against Briggs) but his body definitly went into paralyze mode for a few seconds. However, he took a monstrous shot from Banks(much bigger than anything USS gave him) about 30 seconds before knocking him down, and hardly flinched. Thats the norm for him and in my opinion he actually fights better when he's buzzed a few times.
