Both networks have turned it down, which is part of the reason why he's looking elsewhere. Also, Versus announced they're not picking up new fights (other than letting their contract with Jeff Wald run out), so that's out the window.

That said, Cunningham is his mandatory. The rematch should happen eventually, even if it ends up on an undercard.

Wlodarczyk has done a great amount of success in cruiser weight....Especially for such a young age.

This is false. His name and following in Poland is good. Hes not Golota popular but hes a big name none the less. Hes on TV shows, Movies, Commercials.. i mean.. what?

Everytime you see a Wlodarczyk fight, look in the crowd once in a while. What do you see? You see stars. You see all these Polish movie stars, and famous Polish people going and watching Wlodarczyk. **** man, even in Italy there were a lot of Polish people. Zbigniew Boniek was there...Who goes to Adamek fights? Funky Polak thats pretty much it...The Polish people in Poland can't see much of him unless by TV. So pretty much Adamek wanted to do bigger and better things in the States, and it pretty much left Polish boxing event throne to Wlodarczyk who has been fighting in Poland his whole career almost, and is also a big guy with good talent for kids to look up to.

Probably most knowingly is because these people are from Warsaw, and you know how hes always proud of being from Warsaw n ****.

Right, but still ... he will have to reach much more to become as same popular and knowns as Golota.

Is good, but he probably will never get Golota's status. Well, sorry that you will read that, but who tf they can choose to 8th edition of Dancing with Stars ? half of them, who has dance in editions 7-+ are strangers for people, frequently these 'Stars' got more popularity after this show, than they had had it before.

Well dude, no offense, I live in Poland and all I see you can't compare Golota's and Wlodarczyk's legacy. Although Wlodarczyk was a world champion, he has never fought the same stars as AG (maybe he will, but CW division won't be as much popular in the world as HW). Golota was the one known polish boxer behind the Atlantic, who gave people a lot of joy, also tears, but has been remembered by all, polish community in the states, polish community in Poland. Wlodarczyk can only dream about it, this what Golota has done in world boxing.

Do you know why Boniek was watching Fragomeni fight live ? I'm gonna tell you. First, he lives in Rome, Italy. He was also invited by Polsat - TV station which he often cooperates with. If you watch 'Cafe Futbol' on Sundays, you can notice that he's been there quite many times, he also speaks as an expert, Polsat took him as a commentary man in Switzerland&Austria Euro 2008. He's a friend of many people in Polsat, personally that hasn't surprised me to see him there, on Diablo's fight. Other actors and polish celebrities ? Right now I can't remember many, but I've been watching his fights even before he lost to Melkomian. Hope it will be changed. I'm writing objectively, don't want to offend you, I know you are his fan, I like him too, but the situation looks the way I presented here.

I don't deny that Wlodarczyk-Adamek would be a great fight for Poles, but Golota was Solorz's choice, Golota's name is more cashable. They will earn a lot of more on Golota than they would on Diablo. Solorz is not about boxing, Solorz is a businessman and he's got cash in his eyes and mind and for sure Golota is a better reason to make such a fight and earn a pretty good ammount. Golota is a legend for Polish boxing fans, Wlodarczyk too ? I don't think so, at least not within next 5 years.

yeah, hopefully on an undercard to a big fight. give them plenty of exposure and a bit better money.

re Versus: maybe it's not out the window. Sort of. How about Adamek v Troy Ross, as the Contender fighter will be tied to them, won't he?

Then again, it seems Ross did not look ready winning lacklustre 8 rounder v Michael Simms.

With Golota underrated as a HW and Adamek overrated - but Golota old and semi-retired and Adamek in his prime - and Golota heavier... this is somehow a strangely interesting fight.

I am not from Poland and in no way related to poland, but I actually think this is an interesting fight and I would like to see it. Strange.

    Cool.

So, if Adamek v Golota does good business, do you think it might be worth doing Adamek v Wlod afterward?

If Adamek KOs Golota, then he'll be even bigger in Poland, right? Who would the Poliah fans wantt o see him fight after that?

Adamek will KO Golota. While Golota is bigger, he is a fringe world class boxer now. Adamewk is top level, top drawer world class and should bash him up...This could be as one sided as David Haye v Tomasz Bonin...It just seems like a silly celebrity fight.

Why is Golota so popular? He's messed up so many times. Don't the Polish ppl get pissed off with him?

I'm not sure Adamek is overrated.

He's one of 4 or 5 fighters to be recognized by Ring mag as the champ of their division.

He beat very tough Briggs twice, beat the excellent Cunningham - all in GREAT fights. Unbeaten Banks was no pushover either, Bell a former undisputed champion

If anything, Adamek is underrated and badly overlooked especailly by the big paymasters like HBO and Showtime.

Adamek is in my oppinion an entertaining fighter and makes good fights if you like close give and take fights with sweat and blood flying all over the place. However, he is - in my oppinion - not a boxing master in the sense that he exhibits great skill and is able to dominate good opponents. Personally I do not think he would make it in top 5 at SMW (if he could make the weight) and all the technically gifted fighters at LHW would imo. also beat him (Hopkins, Dawson, Calzaghe when he was there) so it made good sense leaving LHW after the defeat to Dawson. I think Dawson is too big foor LHW soon and we may see a rematch. I think Adamek loses by a wide UD.

all in all -a fighter who will give most fighters a run for their money and will beat most physically based fighters, but will loose to skilled fighters. I like Adamek, but I think we must put his Ring position in perspective by remembering that CW is far from full of technically skkilled fighters. No harm in that and congratulation to Adamek for getting there and winning the fights to get the belt. A good fighter, but sometimes overrated a bit.

    I disagree with you.

I actually agree with what you say, if we are discussing the light heavyweight Adamek. He was too easy to hit. If he wasn't so tough, he would have been stopped by Briggs. The loss to Dawson was perhaps inevitable.

However at cruiser, he is taking on bigger men, and demonstrating a high level of skill. He moves to the sides after punching, when shaken he remains calm and picks his moment rather than slugging right back. He was a terrific slugger but now he's a highly professional, aggressive fighter. He beat a very skilled Steve Cunningham. Cunningham is like an orthodox Dawson, he was "wrong" for Adamek - due to speed and mobility - yet the Pole ground out the win. The 3 knockdown punches were beautifully picked shots, while he was under pressure.

Adamek isn't flashy but he is damn good. This is why I don't want him to go to heavyweight. It took him a long time to get this good.

He's better than all those super middleweights. He's more versatile, bigger puncher and more proven than Kessler. What he did to Cunningham was better than what Froch did to Taylor. Abraham might prove himself to be every bit as good, maybe better, than Adamek.

I would like to see this fight, but not now. I dream about unification fight between them both.

If they met prime for prime time, then Adamek would be a bigger in Poland. He is and will be a big star of boxing in Poland, but can't say he will be bigger star than Golota. Both will be remember for sure for long long years.

I don't think so. Imo, Adamek doesn't have such power to knock AG out and it will finish after 12 rounds, won't be one-sided.

If you had only AG from your country who's beating fighters like Riddick Bowe in Heavyweight division, prolly the strongest division in 90's, you would be proud of that, like Poles are. He's been beaten brutally few times, he has made some strange decisions in the ring like Grant fight, but he gave a lot of emotions, positive, also negative, but nobody will take him away his championship attempts, none Polish has reached something smilar in boxing like. Millions were waking up in the night to watch Andrew. This is why...
