Adamek vs Hopkins latest report...NO GO.

there was a thread on this earlier but I gotta side with HBO on this one.
Hopkins is the TV draw and he don't draw ****. Adamek can pull a decent gate in NJ, but this fight being dead in March leads me to believe the Floyd HBO comeback may be alive. After all, who fights in August? Nobody!

Adamek earned that for beating Banks. GB knows that. Sounds like Hopkins might be getting cold feet here. I mean why not keep negotaiting? Why offer $500,000 take it or leave it? maybe Hopkins doesn't really want the fight. Hopkins has nowhere else to go, Jones is never going to givehim a rematch.

Let's hope Hopkins tells Shaefer to make a more fair and respectful offer to Adamek so this fight can get made.

This is a much much better match up than Berto vs. Urango or Dawson-Tarver II. HBO should be all over Hopkins-Adamek.

I respect Adamek, i love what he's done at cruiserweight.
But cruiser will never be a division worth mentioning, it just isn't.
And Chad kicked his ass at 175. So Adamek had a couple decent wins and he's a hard worker and now deserves more than 500k? vs Bhop.

Dude is lucky for the exposure. Let him win and then get a rematch with Chad, who is now fighting on HBO. Chad can't even get a fight with Bhop. Adamek should take the money and be happy.

 

I hadn't realized Hopkins expected to be making 6X the amount of money. If he really wants this fight he may want to be slightly more generous than that. Adamek is taking a fair amount of risk on his end, Golden Boy needs to see this for what it is. There's no need to try and push people around.

 

Adamek should not accept basically 20-80%. This fight should be roughly 50-50 split. It's Adamek's title. Adamek will draw the live gate. Hopkins doesn't really fill seats - it seemed about 90% PAvlik fans in AC last year.

No way Adamek should accept $500,000. THat is an insulting offer. And if that's as far as GB will go then it looks like Hopkins wants out.

For crissakes, Adamek is Shobox fighter, they pay 50k a show, or slightly more for their special editions. He's solid. And a local draw, for local prices. Everyone would love Bhop to fight for peanuts on Shobox but it's not happening. Adamek, albeit a good fighter, is nothing on US TV. A total zero for HBO.

 

Why the hostility. Hopkins is part of GBP right? It is GBP/Hopkins vs Adamek's promoters. You guys throw him in their like he is arguing about the money. Adamek's promoter want to make there money. I believe Ademek earned the right to make at least 1 million. He is the champ and he will bring the crowd. If Hopkins really wants to fight Adamek, he and GBP will throw more money down the pike. They are just testing the water. Now, if he is not serious on fighter Adamek and it was all a stunt to fook the fans. Let's get this fight done. Is Pac involved?
