That's the 3rd time you mention it.Get over it. That comment still has nothing to do with nothing:yep
Apparently it means something to HBO. Adamek should join a circus, he'd get more peanuts there than on HBO unless he proves himself in a real division !!!!:nut
Adamek should be an HBO main event fighter. Every single one of his fights is a thriller, if it's Adamek it's automatic action. He's top 20 p4p now, a two time world champion, a superstar in his country and he's becoming one in the US. This is a guy HBO should get behind and promote. Adamek always delivers. Putting on fights like Tarver-Dawson II, Peter vs. Chambers, or Berto against a 140 pounder are pretty much meaningless. Nobody is buzzing about or clamoring for those fights like they are for Adamek-Hopkins.
cruiserweights don't bring ratings. Ever. It's by far the most bogus division in boxing, i'm not impressed with Hopkins looking to gain a lineal belt there. But, i am sorry, Adamek has no bargaining power and should accept as much. Main Events is a farce.
More than what you would think. That fight at MSG would = at least $500K from the live gate brought in by Adamek.
Is GBP ****ing serious? They are ****ing idiots if they think Adamek would accept that. They guy holds two titles, is the recognized lineal title holder, and is the premiere number #1 in the division and is coming off of two outstanding victories. He may not be well known in the states, but the fight would draw a massive crowd in a place like Chicago, and it could easily pack a stadium in Europe. He can go over to Germany and make a million or two easy fighting a Eurofighter, fight in front of 30,000, have 10 million people watch the fight. Im beginning to lament the sorry state of boxing in the US. While the prestige of making a name in America still has weight, a fighter can make far more money and have tens of thousands more fans fighting in Europe. Look at Steve Cunningham, that guy is a huge draw in Poland, is black, yet he can pack a 20,000 seat stadium. You think in the US he would be a name, a well spoken, well educated guy, former Navy man, yet he is unknown only to hardcore fans. GBP needs to wise up and offer Adamek his rightful payday. He is the champion, not Bernard. As great as BHop is, he is the challenger in this situation, and is fighting far outside his weight class. Some concessions will need to be made.
ok, give the entire gate to Adamek. Let Bhop have the entire HBO budget. I just don't get why people think this is an equal revenue fight. Adamek has become a solid regional draw and its helped because he owns a division which isn't really a division in the history of the sport
dude, if you were Kerry Davis you would be so ****ing fired. You need a math lesson. HBO style. You act as if Adamek means **** in HBO's market. HBO is a subscription service, man. Get real.
No wonder why you are getting nowhere.atsch $500K is lowball.Of course an equal split wouldnt be waranted.
the last time Adamek was on a real budget show, he got his ass kicked. A move up into one of the weakest divisions in boxing and wins over has been Bell and relative unknown Banks doesnt mean a huge payday is warranted. Dawson still hasn't gotten a huge payday. What the **** warrants Adamek?
HBO can go **** itself. Adamek can go fight in Poland on REGULAR television, have 20 million people watch it, get payed 2 million dollars by a EUROPEAN PROMOTER, and fight in front of 40,000 people cheering his name. HBO has what exactly against that? A paid for subscription service? Oh, thats right its HBO, its gonna be seen by about 4 million people that actually watch boxing. Adamek doesnt need HBO. He can make more money fighting in Europe, fighting in Britain and Germany and Poland and wherever. HBO and GBP need to put up the money and make the fight worth it.
Ya just dont get it do ya:wall BTW that's the 4th reference to the Dawson fight in this thread.rofl HELLO HELLO HELLO
Hop and Adamek will get made. If Adamek is more reasonable than you turds. You cats are silly, thinking HBO should just write a blank check for Hop-Adamek like anyone will give a **** over a CW title. It's called reality. A good matchup, but gimme a break, Adamek remains a nobody. He makes good fights but he's not elite and Hop whips his ass
