I just like to distinct the UK from other parts of Europe when im talking about boxing, and especially since you guys even get your own section this this forum.

 

It's a fair distinction. Technically (geographically) the British Isles are not part of the Eurasian continent. Its a political and cultural habit of grouping Britain to Europe (for good reasons). Nevertheless, that's why the category of "continental Europe" excludes the UK.

Similarly like the "western Europe" excludes the "eastern countries" from belonging to EURO atsch
... however in fact there is much bigger cultural and political difference between eastern and
western Europe than between England and other western "continental" countries.
So if you exclude GB from Europe you should also exclude
e.g. Poles since they really don't belong to "western" = TRUE EUROPE.

Can Adamek get more than 500k elsewhere? I doubt it, Hopkins should take most the purse as he's the draw bringing in all the TV money here. Hopkins himself let Delahoya take most the money against him for the same reason when he was undisputed MW Champ.

Part of this will also be HBO won't offer Hopkins as much money as they used to

Hopkins should just fight Dawson after he finishes Tarver...his next move should be retirement...we know Hopkins/RJJ II will never be made so there's no since in negotiations...

 

I'm so glad this isn't happening.

Adamek is exciting, Hopkins makes fights dull and ugly. We watch Adamek for fireworks, not for getting hugged or run away from.

It has to be right place, right time, right weight, right money, right style of opponent - etc for Hopkins. I'd be glad to see him leave boxing.

Adamek could cash in nicely vs Wlod, if Wlod wins WBC title. He could make a decent Showtime payday vs Cunningham or Ross, someone who would actually try to FIGHT him.

This is such good news. I hope GBP stick to their pittance of an offer. I don't believe that this fight will happen.
