20th thread on this bull****. For ****s sake who cares. It obviously isnt a serious fight. Adamek has a multi-million dollar contract signed with the Klitschkos for September, in what is anticipated to be a good and exciting fight. He even said himself he wanted to stay busy and not inactive for all that time to the Klitschko fight. He knows McBride won't do much to prepare him for the brothers. He fought himself into being a #1 contender for Wladimir, and his goal was a title shot, which he now has. Adamek would be an idiot to jeopardize a title fight with Klitschko by taking a risky opponent. It is the HW, even a lucky punch can derail your train. I don't care for this fight, it is obviously nothing more then a stay busy fight, that I won't pay to see. I would go ahead and turn my attention to an actual belt holder who has done nothing but run since being gifted the belt in a snooze fest against SNV. Then being surprised at Adamek fighting a C level fighter prior to his title shot he has already signed. Treat the fight as what it is, a sparring session, and a stay busy fight, while waiting for September to roll around.
Adamek should fight someone with a little more skill to stay busy. To become better, you have to be challenged. In fact, Adamek may actually get worse as a fighter by fighting a bum like McBride.
And why should he take a risk when he has a guaranteed multi million dollar fight? What would you do in his position?
Adamek literally could go on vacation. But he chose to fight instead. Give McBride some credit. He did what he had to do with Tyson and gave Golota hell. Not bad for a big tough stubborn boozer. Besides, he will give fans in Poland the satisfaction and generate polish peso to boost the already vibrant economy.
If Adamek neglected McBride, didnt train as hard, didnt put in the work, and just blew it off, then sure. But knowing Adamek, I truley believe he will work his ass of for this fight. Not in preparation for McBride, but for Klitschko. He knows that is the toughest fight of his career. I honestly take this fight as nothing more then a sparring session. But he will make some money in the process fighting in Poland. Also this will be great marketing and a great commercial for his upcoming fight with Klitschko, to get the word out, and get everybody pumped with the name Adamek still fresh in everyones minds. I don't like this fight. Only reason I accept it is because I know what is to follow.
DONT GET YOUR **** IN A KNOT.....ITS A TUNE UP.....HE WANTS TO STAY BUSY WITH A BIG PUNCHING BAG.:good:good
Adamek will make more money for fighting one of the brothers than Golota did for fighting Lewis or Tyson....
As we all know there are 2 kinds of ppv events: the mega fights on the one end of the spectrum and the very unimportant fights with fighters who have a niche following, on the other end. If no major tv network wants to pick this up (and my guess is they won't), this will have to be a $20-$30 PPV.
Holyfield, Rahman, McCall, Toney, even Golota is talking about fighting again. atsch Let's see what Adamek and Haye bring to the table.
The fight is gonna be in Newark, & not in Poland as originally planned. This content is protected Adamek-McBride in Newark By Przemek Garczarczyk I will fight my next bout on April 23 in Newark said Tomasz Adamek (43-1, 28 KO) who in the Prudential Center will face Kevin McBride (35-8, 29 KO). This is not the best possible date for me and my supporters, because April 23 is one of the biggest religious holidays in Poland, but this is the job Ive chosen. Not everything has to work 100 percent according to the plan. Fighting in familiar Newark was very good news for Adameks trainer Roger Bloodworth, who understandably preferred to prepare Adamek for the biggest fight of his life against one of the Klitschko brothers in the US, without relocating training camp twice to another hemisphere.
