Cpt_Vodka i like your rankings. Add to this what Adamek achieved at LHW and you know who is better boxer overall. However Adamek is almost 4 years older and Haye may achieve a lot more in 4 years...
Adamek, Povetkin, Arreola all have good chance. Haye didnt fight top HW at his prime. He beat old Barett, old Ruiz and Valuev who should have lost to ancient Holyfield.
How can you be so sure that Bell was 'closer to his prime'; he was inactive for a year after his loss to Mormeck, and has been inactive since his loss to Adamek. There's no way that Adamek's win over Bell can be rated above Haye's win over Mormeck, who lets not forget was the reigning WBC/WBA champ.
Not a huge amount in it. I think the Mormeck win is a lot better than Bell, I'm not buying that at all. Mormeck was coming off a win over Bell, Bell had gone AWOL prior to that fight and turned up looking like moving his feet was a bit too much for him. Plus Haye fought the guy in France and knocked him out in an impressive way. I think its a better win than Cunningham too because it was more decisive, Cunningham/Adamek was real close. Banks is miles better than Enzo though. Not much between Fragomeni and Bell, Fragomeni was in better condition at the time I think. He was game, Bell wasn't interested. I'd give a slight edge to Haye, shame their paths never crossed.
Your opening thread contained several inaccuracies. Cobbler already corrected you on several of them, but you seemed to have ignored his points, so i'll repeat them. For a start you claim 'Adamek has 3 wins over top 10 Ring magazine cruisers', whereas Haye has only 2. This is incorrect seeing as Haye has three wins over top 10 Ring magazine cruisers: Mormeck, Enzo Mac & Fragomeni. You give credit to Adamek for beating 'a dangerous big punching 200 pounder' in Bell, but fail to give credit to Haye for beating the man who bested Bell in his prior bout. You give credit to Adamek for beating 'an undefeated big cruiser in Banks', failing to mention that Banks had not really beaten any live bodies at cruiser and was also highly fortunate to receive a decision over Rossitto, whilst also failing to give Haye credit for beating a tenacious, undefeated cruiser in Fragomeni who would go to win the WBC strap. Which is a hell of a lot more than Banks achieved. You bizarrely referred to Cunningham as 'arguably the most skilled cruiser ever', where Cobbler rightfully pointed out that Cunningham is several levels below the likes of Holyfield, De Leon & Toney. Furthermore you also ignore Haye's win over the chinny Ukranian banger Gurov. Chinny he maybe but his record at cruiser is infinitely superior to Johnathon Banks. You also conveniently foget to mention that Haye began his career at cruiser, and had start at the bottom of the ladder like all prospects. By the time he reached championship level he had pretty much outgrown the cruiser divison, which is why he only had two title fights at the weight. Adamek's exploits at the division below allowed him jump right into a final eliminator (give or take the odd gimme fight to gorw accustomed to the weight). Also referring to Haye as 'Gaye', and referring to anybody who might dispute the accuracy of your posts as 'illiterate trash' hardly strengthens your already weak arguements. The question of who has the stronger resume at cruiser is valid, the manner in which you posed said question detracts from the validity.
Good post. I can agree that win over Mormeck should be judge higher than win over Bell. Mormeck beat Bell and was the champion at the moment. However Bell wasnt able to do anything in the fight with Adamek, while Mormeck floored Haye. But I cant agree that Mormeck win is better than Cunningham win. I know that it was a close fight, but at the moment of the fight, Cunningham was far better than Mormeck. True. We will never know who would win at CW, but still we may watch this fight at HW, later this year (with a bit of luck).
Hindsights a wonderful thing isn't it? After all you thought Enzo Mac was going to stop Haye, didn't you?
I strongly disagree with cunnighum/mormeck part , Mormeck was far past his prime in that fight, the rematch between bell and mormeck was a rematch of 2 past it, close to being shot fighters, Cunninghum was in his prime when adamek beat him and i dont think it was That close , it couldnt have gone either way like many re suggesting, it shouldnt be sd at all , the guy who scored fight for cunninghum was clearly corrupted by don king, the fight was close without the knockdowns, but as they happened its clear victory for adamek imo. I usually dont give a **** about punch stats but many ppl do, so for the record: punchstat numbers say that adamek landed MORE powershots. But cunninghum landed like 20-30 more punches overall with big edge in jabs. Also Haye win over mormeck was by ko yeah... but lets not forget that haye was close to being knocked out himself and was behind on the scorecards when he put mormeck down. Concluding: in my opinion win over cunninghum is the better one and its not that close. I agree tho that the win over Mormeck is better than Bell.
Haye wasn't ever closed to being stopped. He took a knee after taking a full blooded right hook, but he wasn't really in that much trouble.
"took a knee" is pretty soft description :rasta , it looked more like Electric shock :yep was kinda funny
He slipped after evading a punch which did not land. In that split second he made a decision to try and get to his feet maybe worried that Cavalleri (who has a bit of rep as a hometown ref) might call the kd. Stupidly he used the ropes to help himself to his feet, with his arms outstretched by his sideatsch Whilst his arms were outstretched Mormeck hits him with a right and Haye goes down. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRT-oXu9HIY[/ame] Watch from 3:53 onwards. The 'electric shock' reaction Haye has is a slip prior to the genuine kd.
Haye might be the real deal, we will have to wait and see when he fights Klitschko or someone like Chambers or Arreola. But it is a fact that Adamek's resume at CW is more impressive than Haye's, thats just a fact, doesnt mean Adamek would beat him.
