    He sure did.

No, the only thing Adamek tried was to survive and throw a pillow-fisted flurry here and there to not be embarassed entirely. Arreola on the other hand actually did try and had Vitali on his backfoot all night long but lacked the skill and got his ass beat.

    Yeah, Rahman was pathetic too.

Adamek was about as effective as every other recent Klitschko opponent, who's splitting hairs at this point?

    There's really only three tiers...

The best showings where Thompson and Brock, fighters who actually won rounds or were effective at points.

Than you have Adamek, Byrd, Chambers, Chageav, Haye, Gomez, Sultan, Arreola, Sosnowski,..etc...who were just overmatched and dominated without doing much of anything, losing every round in a variety of ways. Arguing who did better out of these opponents is just fruitless, shallow, and an utter waste of time.

Than you have the absolute worst showings in Austin and Solis.

He's probably a hall of fame fighter regardless of what happened. He did better than Solis but worse than his Country man Sosnowski who actually give Vitali probably his toughest fight since his comeback.

Arguable. Solis looked good for 2:50min of the fight while Adamek didn't win a second against Vitali und could've been blown out just as early if Vitali had felt like it.

I don't know, clearly Adamek was utterly destroyed but for that first round like Solis he was actually pretty competitive. After that round Vitali seemed to move up a few gears and crush Adamek as we know but I think most people have forgotten that first round. Check it out, Adamek is sticking to his game plan, using a lot of movement and dashing in and out trying to nick it on points.

Still a 60/40 round for Vitali but competitive.

Alright, let's not turn this into a Solis - Vitali thread. I really don't feel like discussing that yet again.

the last opponent to give any klitschko an even remotely stern test was tony thompson and that lasted for about 2 or 3 rounds. the heavyweight division is absolute garbage and anyone who compares it fondly to it's predecessors are delusional

Yeah, Adamek did an abysmal job, he really doesn't belong at Heavyweight. Haye also destroys him (at any weight).

Albert Sosnowsky is the worst, the other are Kevin Johnson and Old shannon Briggs.
Ray austin and Hasim Rahman do not count because they where mandatories by the IBF.

I used to like Adamek... But his performance was absolute garbage. He has no business at HW.

Meh. The only thing Tony Thompson did was take away Wlads jab and he is in fact a southpaw, he AT BEST maybe only won the first round. They both got cut from a headbutt in rd 2. He still got thoroughly dominated.

Vitali is a monster. He was perfectly prepared for Adamek fight. He was in the best shape since 1998, so he negated Adameks only one advantage - speed.

Once Adamek tasted Vitalis power, he was done. Sad but true. Adamek can compete against almost every HW, but Wladimir and Vitali are out of his reach. Adamek had the best training camp in his careed, so he was very good prepared. There is nothing to defend Adamek. Yes the first round was pretty competetive, but when he tasted Vitalis power in 2nd, Adamek was never the same in that fight. But this is boxing and you cant blame opponent that he hurts you with the clean punches. After that punch in the second round, Adamek was there for beating only. He became very passive after that punch. Not moving a lot and throwin less punches every round. But still he was trying and coming forward. I have respect for him for this trying.
