    this is true but it would also expose him to shots. think about if he had a counter uppercut. he could still be cautious and just wait for the Goat Herder to walk right into it. Lights out!

    A decent jab, instead of that *****-slapping thing he used against Sultan.

    As a Wlad fan, I say combinations.

    He never had all that great an uppercut...but he DID use to throw nothing but combinations, all the time. It was a beautiful sight...as someone here once said, he was like the second coming of Joe Louis early in his career...nothing but absolutely beautiful, FLUID combinations.

    I think he does (and always has) pumped too much iron. Excess muscle effects stamina worse than excess fat; and stamina (more than chin) is Wlad's biggest weakness imo.

    So.. 'stamina' is my answer I guess, and he'd go about it by getting rid of muscle his body wasnt designed to carry.

    Wlad also used to hook off the jab like no other big man I can think of. That was a great weapon.

    :think really?!? interesting thought. but i believe he lifts much less now than with his old trainer. manny said they do much more sparring. he also said wlad learned how to fight when tired.

    he is 6'7'' and moves a lot so that's a lot to take for a big man. he did come in at 238, the lowest since the byrd fight. it's certaintly better to come in lean and cut than over-muscular like a briggs, which slows u down.

    do u have a particular weight in mind?

    he did it very little against sultan but showed it quite a bit against brewster. i thought that was his best performance of his career. he even flashed the uppercut.

    i think he needs someone to stand in front of him to really be effective with the hook off the jab. sultan was always leaning down with his head on his back shoulder.

    Right uppercut or a left hook to the body

    <do u have a particular weight in mind?>

    Not really, I just think he's too shredded; its not so much the actual weight as the constitution of your body. Wlad himself said he was lifting a hell of a lot when he was younger purely out of vanity. I know he still has a German bodybuilder type who does a lot of his physical perparation while Manny works mainly boxing skills with him (although I know Manny insisted on him doing much more roadwork).

    The way Lewis' body devoloped in his late 20's/into his 30's is a prototype for bug guys imo; a little big of fat can help. Larry Holmes was similar. George Foreman used to talk a lot on HBO of the benfits of having (as he comically called it), 'a round body type':lol: Basically, having big biceps and lats look impressive, but arne't that functionally useful; a few extra pounds in the gut and ass can be though.
