the only thing interesting about fighting Quillin was his belt. he'll prob fight Jacobs.

 

Golovkin fights Rubio, wich makes him Cotto's mandatory too (per WBC). Also Golovkin's management reacted like, "see how hard it is to get a fight with this dude". So definitely not him.
Ward is in legal dispute and @168 while kid chocopants clearly said Middleweight. And Cotto has just annouched he wouldn't fight anymore this year so the Korobov fight wouldn't have been in the way of it.

Pretty sure he's going to fight Jacobs for his "regular" strap and probably lose.

 

What happened?

 

This has nothing to do with Quillin, it's Al Haymon trying to keep Jay-Z (who won the purse bid) out of the high levels of boxing. Just one multi-millionaire playing games with another. Qullin will fight Jacobs next, and whatever he makes, Haymon will make up the difference to $1.4m out of his own pocket.

i see it more like he shot his reputation in the foot. if jacobs or whoever beats up quillin as he makes MUCH less than 1.4 million, they'll need to amputate.
