Its mostly speculation with a lot of weight behind it, no pun intended. The confirmation will be Margarito's fight night weight vs Pac if they fight.

Margo weighed 160 vs Mosley after weighing in at 147 gaining 13pds.

Cotto was way bigger vs Mosley then he was vs Pac. Cotto was very lean vs Pac, Pac even looked like he had bigger arms then Cotto. Pac looked beefed up while Cotto looked sucked out. The rumor is that the rehydration clause was 150 not 147 for Cotto though. Its very weird that he would look so light vs Pac after making a career of coming in heavy looking to bully opponents.

DLH - nothing he did weight wise made sense unless there was a clause attached. Fighting at 154 for around 8yrs, even going to 160 4yrs prior. Then at the age of 36 dropping down to 145 and weighing 147 on fight night.

Nobody ever said anything about Hatton he was not mentioned in the rehydration rumors.

There is no real conformation, just something to keep an eye on an continue to track especially with the upcoming Margo fight. It could all be BS but its very interesting.

 

And that's fine, just remember to put the asterisks next to the fight when Pac gets overrated praise for beating DLH worse then Mayweather and stuff like that. Or when people claim he is knocking out all these giants destroying them making him unstoppable, make sure the asterisks is placed properly in there with those statements.

I agree, catchweights are fine if they're agreed to but you shouldn't have a belt on the line. I'm fine with Margarito & Pacquiao fighting at 150 since they can both make 147 anyway but there just shouldn't be a belt on the line for it.

 

It's a **** belt, where were all of you people when the WBC awarded it to Sergio Martinez without him having to fight for it, then allowed him to hold it without defending it and he finally vacated having been champion for a year despite never having been in a fight where the title was on the line?

 

Cotto looked pretty damn rehydrated to me for their fight. I'd be shocked if he gained less than 10 pounds between the weigh in and the fight. He shows it in his face when he's drained.

 

To address the alleged rehydration clause Pacquiao supposedly had on DLH, Hatton, etc.....that has never been confirmed by a reliable source or anyone from an opposing camp.

If it were true, the clause is illegal. Whoever would allow for such a clause to run through would be liable for damages if something happened to one of the fighters.

One of the reasons why they switched to the day before weighin's was to make certain that a fighter had a chance to rehydrate before stepping into a ring.

To put a limit to an ammount a fighter can rehydrate would be dangerous and illegal.

If such a clause existed for the sake of not having one fighter outweigh another by a sizeable ammount, it would be safer to just go back to the way it was before and weighin the day of the fight.
