Yeah I agree I expected a lot of clinching and was pleasantly surprised. I think Wilder is taking a bigger beating on this forum than he did in the ring last night by quite a margin. He is never going to be confused with a skillful boxer (that’s ok neither will Frazier or Marciano lol and no I am not comparing him to them), but he has got some power....I don’t think many recover from that shot in round 12. I tip my hat to both guys

Interesting. I think Wilder IS accurate (relatively) given how he throws his dynamite. His speed is incredible with it. What a combination. Imagine if he had world class boxing to complement it.

It would be gracious to compare his accuracy to Earnie Shavers, much less some of the more wild punchers like Marciano, Foreman and Baer

TBF I don’t believe Shavers would have done as well as Wilder.

In no way am i calling shavers better than wilder, only that their accuracy is comparable

Wilder has better instincts and handspeed than Shavers, and possibly a better chin

When people have criticised his boxing they are not simply talking about his ability to fight from the outside, being a good boxer is more than just being able to box and move. They are talking about his overall boxing ability. He'd be able to apply his power more effectively and more frequently if he improved his overall boxing skills.

Fury did a decent amount of clinching whenever needed. It wasn't just the clinching alone, Wilder was throwing Haymakers which were missing thanks to Fury's elusiveness. These things combined are sufficient to explain why Wilder was gassed at the end.

Wilder is like David Tua, **** easy to outbox but is always dangarous as he carries his power right till the final bell.

Think Wilder has more destructive power given his 39 Ko of after 41 fights

I can see what you're saying, you might be right.

Personally I'd go the other way, I believe Wilder isn't intelligent enough or skilled enough to make adjustments or quick changes, I believe Fury is.

If you give Wilder more time to practice and come up with a formula for Fury, fighting the likes of Breazeale and Ortiz and working on things it will benefit him.

Fury is skilled enough and has enough ring IQ to iron out mistakes quickly and I believe it would benefit Fury if it was a quick turnaround.
