Tonight my girlfriend drug me to Bed Bath and Beyond, we are getting married relatively soon, so we are looking for ways we want our townhouse. Anyhow, in one of the aisles I saw an Everlast adjustable punching bag. I went ahead and picked one up (30 dollars) but had never seen one before. It has a base you fill with water or sand and then two adjustable poles. Then it has what looks like a heavybag on top. All and all it gets about as tall as 5'10" maybe. What it reminds is of those bop bags I grew up with. It has a spring near the base which makes it come back to you after you hit it. The only thing I compare it to is a double end bag. I've tried to find a picture of it, and even looked for one at the everlast website, the company that made it, but can't find it there either. My question is, is this a practical training device. I am a very very novice boxer. I want to box to get into shape, I am a lifelong fan, but I haven't entertained any thoughts of going pro or anything. So, here are my questions 1. Has anyone else ever saw/used this? 2. If yes any advice on exercises I can use with it? Thank you for your time
No, it's just a small bag, the size of a speed bag, only upside down. The base is flat on the ground, then a spring, then an adjustable pole, then the speed bag looking thing.
Yes, that is it. Is that a fairly standard piece of equipment? I like it because it is fairly small. I just don't know how practical it is. Thank you for finding a picture.
I've never used one. (or seen one being used actually) It looks a little awkward to me. But if you are just going to be hitting it to stay in shape and you only have a small space then I don't see anything wrong with it.
Yeah, I hear what you are saying. I can see how I would get very bored with it. Prior to coming on the internet I spend about an hour recreating famous knockouts with it. The next piece of equipment I hope to use is the dual heavybag and speed bag stand. It doesn't look like you need too much room for it. I'm basically taking over our spare room in the townhouse.
hey, wudnt recommend one of these, they're very awkward but most of all are really slow, a weak punch sends it flying back n it takes quite a while to spring back, wud be ok for practisin jabbing, and jabbing from angles but its very limited
