Admaek vs. Johnson practically a done deal. HBO turns it down.

Glen has been calling out Dawson for a rematch for a year and a half now. Then there's Cloud, the Diaconu - Pascal winner, and eventually guys moving up from 168. Don't let wasting over a year on Antonio Tarver fool you into thinking that Dawson is some feared man who can't get any fights at 175.

It would be great for us the fans if he could get down to 168 healthily, but if he can't, he has plenty of options at 175.

Dawson was suppose to fight Tavoris Cloud after he beat Tarver. Basically IBF rules are mandatories first, everything else comes second, including rematch clauses. But this time (for whatever reason) they allowed Tarver to have his rematch first. Of course the injury from Dawson and the boxing politics involved is really hindering good fights in 175, especially for Dawson.

Your acting as if Paul Briggs is horrible or somthing?

Im pretty sure no doubt Paul would beat Glen Johnson.

Paul Briggs is one of the least skilled boxers I have ever seen, no defense at all. He has a really good chin and good power though.

Well that least skilled boxer was WBC ranked number 2 for quite some time and won titles in kick boxing... so he definably had some skills.

Like I said he has a very good chin and good power, oh and kickboxing and boxing are two different sports.

Dawson said it best when comparing himself to Briggs "I don't bowl over".

Just because Briggs is no Dawson that dont didnt make him a push over.Steward and merchant actually commended briggs on his D for such an aggressive fighter.Briggs never won anyting big but he was a legit contender and just good enough to earn a shot at Tarver who then dumped the belt.Anyway we are going backwards.

This will be a WAR.Johnson is good enough to win big and always good enough to be in the fight even when losing. When is the last anyone here has seen him dominated?I favour Adamek at the weight of course but i can see Johnson giving a good account for himself.

Roy's fights have been (pathetic and stupid) PPV's, not on HBO. They are, at least, passing on that nonsense, just as they have been passing on Pavlik's mandatories since Lockett.

I'm sure it is the case that they just don't have a slot for this fight - but I'll be curious to see what plays instead. This could be a damn fine scrap. Surprised at the # of people taking Glen, though. I luv'im and all, but this is a step too far, I think.

The thing is though, to war with Adamek you have to be able to hurt him regularly. Glen doesn't even have a KO punch at 175, and his whole style is based on attrition, which means he's going to be right in Adamek's wheelhouse all night. He is tough as nails and will of course train with everything he's got, but I just get the feeling he's pretty hopelessly outgunned here. Add in a pro-Polish crowd, and there's almost no way he wins.

He also looked noticeably slower against Daniel Judah, although Judah obviously turned that fight into a sham and I'm sure Glen's intensity dropped some.

Hey, as a fan of both fighters, I hope it's a better fight than I'm expecting.

If the fight is at 175 I would favor Johnson to win, but I don't know how effective Johnson can be at cruiserweight. 25lbs is a lot of weight to gain.
