admit it....who was fooled by Hatton's boxing career?

Picture perfect account. Who were you back then? I am sure you must have had a different name or posted less frequently. But that is spot on in how it went, particularly the mocking of how it would never happen and when it did the delight at him getting destroyed....oops.

If you say before every fight "He will get exposed now" or "The moment he fights genuine opp he will get exposed" then eventually 99 times out of 100 you will be able to crow "Told you so" because almost every fighter loses.

It is what the RJJ haters did when he lost to Tarver. It is what the Hatton haters have been waiting to do up until PBF.
It is what Pac Haters will do if he fights PBF and gets whipped.

Rather than accept that someone can be world class but not ATG, or even that someone can be an ATG but inferior to another ATG, the simple minded only see fighters as either "The Truth" or "Exposed".

It is banal and pathetic.

I can't remember exactly but I was "Gaz" something or other, my account/post count got deleted in one of those server resets they had a few years back and I re-joined using this account at the start of 2005.

I used to post more in the General/ Classic Forums, the Brit section section had quite a few little cliques back then and I couldn't be arsed with the "politics".

Spot on..........regardless of the antics between posters and what they predicated etc............as ive said before a great british fighter but not All time great at his weight.........the way he handpicked guys is still a huge Error against him but the Pretty boy Floyd has done the same.

If Hatton foughts Marquez, Cotto, Mosley, Margarito (when he wasnt banned), P. Williams, V. Forrest or even fringe top class fighters like T. Bradley and Holt then i think he would lose the majority of those.....dosent mean its a bad thing i mean we are talking the best little little guys in the world.

Very good british champ.......but not in the same class as Lennox Lewis or N. Hamed....a tier below that.

I agree he's not in the same class as Lewis. But Naz? Cant agree with you on that sorry. Naz is waaaaaaaaaay down my list.

 

You see im not bothered by Hatton on a personal level like some of those fools tried to suggest just becuase i agree with Scurla, Betty etc......his persona should not affect his standings in the game.......i mean Tyson was one of the best ever for me.......and Holmes but as people they have alot to be desired......at least in my belief.

Getting to the point-
One of the Top 140lbs me for around 4 or so years.....beat some decent fighters and lost to the very best with some ease.

His status isnt that of an all-time great.......

 

Naz was clearly the BEST feather and super featherweight for 5 years and beat certain guys conclusivly......lost to a prime Barrera......but for he is an all time great.

 

Out of interest...........how do u summarise Hatton yourself?

 

In the same way Hatton was the best LWW for four years. Difference for me is that Hatton has Zoo on his record. Whereas Naz doesnt have anything comparable.

 

The same as I did before the Pac fight, a genuine world class fighter who was a decent and legitimate world champion for 4 years.

 

Absolute pigs ****ing drivel. I said Tackie would beat Hatton and i picked Kostya over Hatton as did 99% of the boxing world. One upset certainly does not mean the kid has arrived. Its no diffrent to Froch beating Taylor accept Kostya had one foot in retirement and had seen better days. The Tackie result wasnt too surprising considering Kostya handed him a one sided beat down, but the manner of the Kostya victory was because Hatton broke all the goddam rules and rubbit punched and mauled his way to a stoppage. The rest of your post is pure hogwash. At least try and get a semblance of some of your facts straight instead of writing a steaming pile of horse ****. I picked Paulie and Castillo over Hatton? As for Hatton i have NEVER insinuated once he was NOT world class so get your facts ****ing straight. My point was his was carefully managed career which you certainly attested to when Spud started a thread calling him Britains number 1 comfort fighter.
