    By James Blears

WBC light heavyweight Champion Adonis Stevenson is laying down the gauntlet to WBA, IBF and WBO Champion Sergey Kovalev to put all other considerations aside and to step up for a WAR to see who's the last man standing! At the presentation of the Emerald Belt in Mexico City, Adonis gave an insightful assessment of the victory of his former opponent Andrzej Fonfara, who stopped Julio Cesar Chavez Jr to win the WBC International Belt.

Adonis said: "This was a very good fight for Fonfara. You could see that he was bigger than Chavez, Chavez hadn't been in the ring for 13 months, and Julio should definitely go to 168lbs.

In that fight, Fonfara used speed and movement." Turning to the issue of Kovalev, Adonis' smile disappeared and he bluntly stated: "Sergey is looking for excuses. The purse bid on Friday is who puts up the most money and then we should do the show! I know that I can beat him, and he never fights big power punchers.

"My message to Sergey Kovalev is to fight me, as soon as possible and stop sending silly messages. It's not about the money. This is very much about who is the best! I know I'm the best and I'm the WBC Champion. If I fight him, I WILL win by KO. I know that I can beat him. I'm ready to fight him and this is the time!"

Kovalev has already unified titles, it's Stevenson who has been messing around fighting the Sukhotskys and Bikas of the sport.

Titles would have been completely unified already were it not for Stevenson complaining about money, now he claims that money doesn't matter.

How much more nonsense are we going to have to listen to from this imbecile?

The guy Derek Findley KO'd in 2 rounds? Fonfara didn't even have a title, he's never had a title.

Are we supposed to pretend he's a superhero now because Stevenson couldn't get him out of there and useless Chavez quit in the corner?

Face it, Stevenson's been doing nothing of note. Kovalev has been knocking guys out in their backyard with no apologies. Actions speak louder than words.

Positively. Kovalev has a far better resume, although fonfara is good fighter. Krusher would have knocked him out

Lets not pretend that every guy Kovalev fought was a killer either.

Blake Caparello and Cedric Agnew arent exactly murderers row themselves.

Its the fight that has to be made at LHW. If they keep waiting, Stevenson will have gotten too old and the fight wont mean as much.

Now that's an idiot's logic at its finest. Didn't Khan get blown away by Prescott?. What about Hopkins losing his professional debut?, Pacquiao getting KO'd twice early in his career? and countless other similar examples. Those guys should have retired and worked alongside you in a grocery, right?

Except Khan and Pacquiao are multiple world champions, Fonfara is a steroid cheat who will never be a world champion.

Keep talking him up if you must, it's a shame that's what Stevenson has reduced you to.

Another idiotic response. Were Pacquiao and Khan multiple champions when they suffered their early losses?.

In the last 6 months Kovalev has beaten Hopkins and Pascal. I'd take Agnew to beat Stevenson anyway, just as I would Chilemba.

Let them make the fight on HBO if they want it, Kova's not going on Haymon TV.

Fonfara lost in 2008, it's 2015. He's done nothing and he'll never be world champion. He's not comparable to Khan and Pacquiao and I don't know why you ever try. Then you have the nerve to talk about idiocy.

A big left hand doesn't cut it against a good defensive fighter, when is the last time Stevenson fought one of those?
