No, not heralded. He's just not a bum (the way so many people described him as previously). Kovalev still stops him if they ever share a ring though.
Intersesting how the ignorant masses dismiss Fonfara now. Getting stopped as an 18 month pro, barely 20 years old by a stronger, bigger more experienced fighter evidently seals your fate as a perpetual bum. Fonfara may not match up favorable against Kovalev but that does not mean he is not a constantly improving fighter who can present problems to anyone.
You see more excusess! We are talking about how you groupies defend Kovalev behavior saying his culture its different blah blah ****ing hipocrite atsch
Why don't people realize that different words mean different things in different languages...??? Examples: F*g is a cigarette in England, or a non hetero person in America Negro means black in the Spanish language (Go to a grocery store to the Mexican section and look at black beans, clearly says Negro beans).
Why not?, wasn't he completely overlooked and expected to lose that fight going in as a massive underdog?. Why is it irrelevant now that the result turned out to be different?.
Stay on topic gents. The topic was Stevenson calling out Kovalev in no uncertain terms. The ball is in Kovey's court. The question is, WHAT IS HE GONNA DO! PLAY OR FOLD.
:think I just think some perspective is needed. There are a lot of levels between 'bum opponent' and an 'A level opponent'. Fonfara is not a weak opponent at all, but hes also not exactly a proven talent to me either. A natural 175lber beating Chavez Jr at 175lbs, under any circumstances, doesn't a heralded opponent make. Just Imo. Not every fighter who wins while being the underdog (especially against an unprofessional, inactive opponent whos fighting at 175 for the first time, and who wouldn't even beat the top 5 guys the weightclass below in a fair fight) necessarily needs to be made out to be more then they are. I am not putting Fonfara down, at all. I am just saying I don't think he should be a heralded fighter as of yet. A solid, respectable contender? Heck ya... but nothing more nothing less. I am happy and glad Fonfara finally put an end to the Chavez train... but Jr is a complete non entity at 168, let alone 175. I think its awesome that Fonfara is getting props for his win, and more importantly he will be able to cash in this win with more big opportunities, and those opportunities will provide a lot more insight into just how heralded he should be, and how good he is, that 10 fights against Chavez Jr would. I look forward to his future fights and I hope he makes some waves... he adds yet another interesting dimension to an exciting division. I just think patience is needed before proclaiming him as anything but a solid contender who has a nice upset win over one fighter. That one fighter being Chavez Jr.
Stevenson is not a big power puncher. Power very overrated. One trick pony with no stamina or plan b. Really should have stuck with his first career as a pimp enforcer. Gate keeper status next stop up ahead.
Not just Sub-Saharan Africa. Look at Zimbabwe under Mugabe. The white farmers have been systematically murdered. Men, women and children, who have lived there for generations. Google it. It's is not pretty. The same is not taking place in Russia. There may be prejudice but there is not genocide taking place.
