The problem is, Hopkins is going to expose Kovalev soon, and so Stevenson will have an excuse to continue ducking Kovalev.

No he wasn't the guy stevenson is fighting has never been stopped....

it's a bad choice of a fight that means nothing, but the guy wasn't stopped vs Kovalev unless it happened in the ammys.

if that's the case a canadian propsect beat kovalev rather easily in the ammys. (twice)

 

I picked up on that one also, but assumed he meant that Sukhotski was beaten by White who Kovalev stopped in three. Sukhotski ain't terrible, but given that Stevenson basically had the option of fighting Kovalev and/ or Hopkins but squandered it, Dmitry is something of a let down.

The 'Canadian prospect' you mention wouldn't happen to be Artur Beterbiev by any chance would it? I hadn't realised he'd been granted citizenship yet, but yeah, good luck to the guy - he's a threat to everyone in the division. Doubt you'll find many boxing fans who consider Beterbiev any more Canadian than Bute however.

Actually - now you come to mention it Artur would make the ideal opponent for Stevenson - there shouldn't be any problems making the fight in Montreal under GYM and they have the common opponent in Cloud... good all Canadian matchup IMO.:bbb
