Pascal and Bute are naturally smaller than Alvarez, Stevenson isn't. I don't know if Alvarez can beat Stevenson. I'd have to see it happen.

I really can't see Alvarez beating Stevenson. Alvarez is a big, strong LHW, like Badou Jack was at SMW.

No no no, canelo actually engaged in the event by throwing his own shots too, Pascal lost every bit of confidence he ever had and buried all his fake confidence, he didn't try fighting to win, he attempted a few hail Mary's but that was about it. Then he has no shame, he tried pretending he had a chance on the cards.

Fmj v canelo wasn't remotely close to this fight and the gap in talent was much larger on display tonight. Pascal still having a decent chin was his best weapon tonight, too bad he couldn't break both Alvy hands which is what he really was going for

He's still packing just a single weapon in his arsenal. He clubs up top with the left at middle distance, spears it out straight when in his comfort zone with plenty of room, and throws uppercuts into the chest at close range. You don't see him ripping many right hooks on the body.

As a finished pro you do what works for you. As fans, anyone can analyze a style and come to the conclusion that a fighter does or doesn't do this or that. Bottom line is he wins. He's winning with one arm and all I guess. Monzon was seen to be one dimensional. Big right hand that's it. He was much more than the big right hand.

He's winning against the same pattern of opponent with the same limitations on mobility, speed and defensive skill in common, though. Not a great mental leap to say he only gets away with the bag of tricks he's been using to win because of carefully scouted opponents stylistically inclined to be sitting ducks for his power.

No he's not winning against the same pattern of opponents. These opponents are just lesser than Kov and Ward.
