Adonis Stevenson vs. Andrzej Fonfara II & Eleider Álvarez vs. Jean Pascal RBR.

Have to admit I don't watch these guys regularly so bow to your superior knowledge!

 

Pascal is damaged goods, Alvarez should shine in this one. The under 9.5 rounds option payout seemed to good to be true.

 

Boxing bet for the weekend: Stevenson-Fonfara over 7.5 rounds. I think the low distance is a huge gift, not even mentioning the odds. As CST said Stevenson is fading, and not quite as sharp and quick as he's been, and his next fight could always be the fight he no longer has it. The over/under is low because Stevenson has power and Fonfara's chin isn't the greatest, but we shouldn't take too much from the first round stoppage against Smith. He was caught cold, and Smith was an awkward, aggressive style, much different than Stevenson. Stevenson and Fonfara should at worst box on even terms, and that should keep it going rounds whatever happens late. Debating at the moment whether I should put more on the over and a small play on Fonfara at 7/1...

 

Its too bad Custio Clayton's opponent bailed. He was 25 lb over weight. Sucks cause a regional belt and an IBF top 15 ranking was on the line.

 

Anyone know when the card starts? Is it just Pascal and Stevenson fights being broadcast?

 

I think if Pascal is finished he retires on his stool or the ref stops it with him on his feet. If he's got anything left in the tank I could actually see him sweaking out a close UD. I doubt that will happen though.

Pascal's trainer for most of his career is Alvarez's trainer and both of them have spared together many times. My guess is if they thought there was any chance they'd lose this fight they would have just waited for their title shot.

 

Yeah IMO Eleider is a lock tonight. I think it's easy money, I'm tempted to put like £500 on him right now but I remember Pascal kinda got a gift against Gonzalez.

 

think it starts at 9pm estern. I don't know if its PPV in Quebec but sometimes the Canadian PPVs show most of the undercard.

 

Well this undercard is pathetic

 

7/1 is a bargain, with all things considered.

 

I think Alvarez beats Pascal, probably by stoppage but Pascal has always had a good chin and Alvarez isn't Bob Foster so a wide decision wouldn't be a shock.

I think Fonfara pulls the upset tonight. Stevenson is nearing 40 and had one fight(4 rounds) in almost 2 years.

Fonfara probably hasn't gotten much better technically but he is a lot more experienced than he was the first time they met and still at/close to his prime. I think he wins a close decision.

Pascal's chin is cracked but should be enough to last the distance with Alvarez.
