Adonis gets dealt with. His career has been one of the biggest bummers of the last 5 or 6 years. He won the lineal title in such impressive fashion against Chad Dawson. Sure, Chad had lost some of his standing from the loss to Ward, but that was a massive victory for Adonis. If even had a decent defense against Tavoris Cloud. But then he squandered what could have been a good reign. He would have been a big underdog to Kovalev or Ward, but if he had lost his title honorably defending to a top contender he would still enjoy some respect. But now his biggest historical legacy is for being a joke and defending against the most cautiously handpicked opponents possible.
Adonis is a good fighter but Spinks is arguably the best at 175 of all time. I think Spinks wins hands down.
Spinks was a slow starter and Adonis has quick hands so perhaps he gets to Spinks in the very first round, but I don’t think he finishes him. Against lefties Spinks’ left hook and uppercut were his best weapons, so I reckon he blasts Stevenson out within 5.
This fight would pan out like Spinks defense against southpaw Marvin Johnson. Except it would finished well before the 4th rd. Ko at 5.10. This content is protected
