Saw a few of his fights, he's a tall southpaw with quick handspeed and little power.

Also he has a shaky defense and likes to brawl, as well as fight with his back to the ropes. He matches up badly vs Stevenson, I see an early ko.

Something worth mentioning: It is going to be the first ever championship fight in Haïti. After all the trouble they have there, I am sure they will enjoy their fight. Plus, "Haymon's PBC" will be there so it will be good exposure for them.

Technically yes, since the Mack fight had been signed - Carl knew he had to either rematch Bute by requesting an exception or face his mando by February. Neither happened.

    http://www.boxnews.com.ua/en/news/1...Will-Be-Ordered-To-Fight-Stevenson-By-The-IBF

“On ***********, Froch was talking about his future. He was talking about Yusaf Mack and then he has a rematch with Lucian Bute and then he wanted to fight Kessler after or to fight Andre Ward, or maybe one and then the other - so it's clear that Adonis Stevenson does not fit in his calendar."

"there is a section in the IBF’s rules where a mandatory defense holds weight over a rematch"

...and the Kessler fight was technically a rematch.

Hearn screwed GYM big time by way of IBF bribing. The Stevenson-Dawson fight was only signed in April, that tells you how much Carl wanted to play by the rules - not.
