As did DeGale, Groves, Cleverly, Bute and Dirrell? We have heard those words every fight. More often than not, it's Stevenson who gets caught early and Jack who fades in the later rounds.
I'll be rooting hard for Jack, and I hope he pulls it off. But I tend to think he gets KO'ed - he's just too open for Stevenson's big left hand, and he doesn't have the greatest chin to bail him out if he gets caught by what probably is p4p the best straight left in the world.
Stevenson's left hand is an entirely different proposition though ... I dislike Stevenson, but the combination of speed, power & reach is IMHO the p4p best in the world.
Fair point. At some stage this is going to catch up with Stevenson. But anything vaguely close to peak Stevenson should be a clear favourite IMHO.
I know the hate that continues for Adonis on this site (hell he effectively ended the career of one of my favorite fighters in Chad Dawson), but he's so effective. He's really a threat to everyone until proven otherwise. Until Adonis has shown age slippage (and he hasn't) there's very few I'd pick against him and Jack ain't one of em. Adonis is a mobile bomber that can throw coming forward or off the backfoot, and he's proven he can win firefights. Is anyone here really that confident Badou can win a firefight with Stevenson? I think Kovalev and Beterbiev are elite enough to deal with Adonis. Badou Jack? Nah.
Would be surprised if Jack survives this without going down and if he goes down i think Stevenson will finish him.
